A truly shocking piece of bowling by stokes who then goes off and cries like a baby, guess we will have to call him " choker stokes " from now on.

Carlos brathwaite what was he on. Ben stokes had the Stuart broad moment when he got smashed by yuvraj Singh few years ago. Great match and what a advertisement for t20 cricket. Who was that fit blonde English bird in the crowd. She was unbelievably hot and what a body.

Overall even we had been better off batting 2nd we probably still wouldn't have won!!

All Stokes had to was keep it tight right up to the bat and not concede runs, yes maybe we can br proud of our overall performance in this tournament, but at the same time we are experienced enough to know exactly what
is needed to put the pressure on opposition. Whatever Braithwaite had to eat beforehand I don't know but certainly our players should have had the same!! Credit for the way the Windies bowled in our innings, and certainly our batsmen were not up to the task once Roy was out 2nd ball, and Root probably never got the back up he deserved

If only Broad was bowling that last over...

Marlon Samuels is a bit of an arrogant prick! What happened to winning with a bit of class?

RE: World Twenty20 2016 - lancealot790 - 04-04-2016 14:34

The west indies are a bunch of cricketers for hire and nothing more, happy to play 20/20 for the big money in the IPL but not so forthcoming when it comes to playing for the test team as there is far less money in it. The windies board should never have picked the mercenaries in the first place.

No class and no honour.

^ can I ask if, in your line of work, you would turn down the opportunity to travel the world earning vastly more money than you do at the moment whilst working far fewer hours?

In my current minimum wage job of course not, if on the other hand i was already well paid with money from sponsorship and appearance fees, plus having all my expenses paid when chosen to play for the national side then i would certainly turn down the IPL for the chance to represent my country. We are not talking about people who are struggling to put food on the table but sportsman who are already earning more money than most of us can dream about.

^ The West Indies Test players are paid well below market value. Even excluding the vast sums on offer from the IPL and other t20 leagues, England players' central contracts are worth £700,00 plus a £12,000 Test Match Fee. By comparison the West Indies players receive a maximum of $US 140,000 with a recently reduced $US 5,000 match fee. The WICB is in a state of financial crisis and further cuts in wages seem inevitable now the big 3 of India, Australia & England hold so much sway over ICC finances and tours. A sportsman's career is an extremely short one and you can hardly blame the players for looking to maximise their earnings. You cannot accuse them of playing without honour after the way they fought in yesterday's game and throughout a tournament that they didn't even know they would be paid for at all until a week before it started. It is the administrators who are to blame for the current situation, not the players.

RE: World Twenty20 2016 - lancealot790 - 04-04-2016 17:07

There are probably thousands of people across the caribbean who would love to be paid only $140,000 plus a $5000 match to play for the west indies and as for playing with honour many of the same players cut short their tour of india because of money.

Winning this tournament was more about increasing their value in the IPL auctions.
