It's a similar story to the Scotland one the other night. Too much slow ball that is too predictable and easy to defend against.
The rare time quick interchange occurred was the disallowed goal.

Not as bad as Denmark, but still something missing.
TBF I think Slovenia came for the 0-0 and they were very well organised. They almost never lost their shape. England needed a bit of magic to unlock them and they just didn’t have it.
Focussing on the positive — cos Harry Kane hates it when I criticise the team — I thought Foden had a good game and Mainoo had a good game.
Most important, every time Palmer got the ball in his 20-minute cameo, he did something interesting with it — a dribble, a cross, an incisive pass. I would give him a start over Saka.

Don't bank on Southgate doing too much tinkering
I think Netherlands will be looking at that result and say: "They aren't as good as we thought they were."
TBH I think the Dutch will simply run rings round us, or they will set up a game plan to tire us out then hit us on the break.
