Its all become very, very slow from about 10 minutes ago.

Edit @ 7.00pm
I logged out for a couple of hours, had my tea and watched the X files on ch20, not seen that episode before.
It all seems ok again now.
I notice no posts were made by anyone between 4.47pm and 5.30pm so there must have been a problem.

The board is painfully slow for me tonight taking more than 30 seconds to load a page plus had a couple of error messages as well.

does anyone know how many people were using the server at the time

The forum has become unbearably slow in the evenings.
I think the number of guests browsing should be limited at this time.
They were outnumbering the members by 10:1 last night.
If it was up to me, I would not let guests get past the main forum index page between 4.00pm and midnight until they logged in.
That would speed things up since most of them are not members and probably would not join.

Its all nice and quick at present. Smile

I noticed last night there were over 1,100 guests online. I think it was even more the night before. Plus over 21,000 guests had been online in the last 24 hours.

Well, there's one sure fire way to cut the number of guests down. Make all the Caps and Vids threads, only accessible to members.

The guests would then have to either go elsewhere for their freebie fix, or sign up.

Then all the vid makers would go in the huff due to low download figures Wink

That would be true of some, but not all. I'm not bothered by downloads. If I were trying to get reward points, then I would make sure all my videos were under 100 MB in size. As I only get reward points if they are. And as 99% of mine are over that limit, I don't get anything for them being downloaded.

I'm not doing this to earn points. I'm doing this, because I enjoy it.

If all the guests signed in to view the content, then that too would slow the board down to a trickle. Most likely they still wont contribute to the forum or there would be a mass of new posts cluttering up the threads. The forum will return to normal once the Bangmedia channels are officially back up and running. Though it may be slow tonight with the return of Danica?

Maybe restricting the number of guests is an option? It would be better if they saw the 1203 error message and not the contributing members.

All the guests would not sign up. Many of them could be underage and not have valid email accounts to register.
Other people might not want to give out a valid email address. Not everyone has yahoo "spam" email accounts like myself.
