Is it still possible they could slot in a reserve day so there is a better balance? It is a bizarre ruling and would be an unfair way to go out

I was already pissed off, but this makes me mad. Clearly the biggest voices in the ICC are those from India, to basically serve up a prime-time semi final for India doesn't seem right.

Let's face it, India probably get their way too often with the ICC it is about time the ICC stood up to them.

^^ It's a case of the tail wagging the dog, I'm afraid.

That was a bit too one sided. It didn't do anyone any good, it didn't stretch South Africa and it was poor viewing.

I think Afhanistan can be proud of what they acheived, let's hope they build on this and become a good Test playing Nation over time.

The wicket at Tarouba simply wasn't up to the standard for any form of International Cricket. The main issue was the uneven bounce. All the matches bar one have produced low scores. Not only was there inconsistencies with bounce, there pitches uses offered the most swing & seam & the 2nd most spin in the whole tournament, that all adds up to a deadly combination for batsmen to have any sort of trust in the surface to play shots. It may have just been luck that no one was seriously hurt.

Given the above post & also the nature of the pitches in New York & the farcical situation of cramming the Super Eights Stages, the Semi Final & Final into such a small window that it has created unfairness, this has been a poor World Cup. T20 is a format that thrives on good pitches with high scoring, this has been the exact opposite.
It could've been even worse, imagine if this had been a 50 over World Cup, even if you take USA as a venue out of the equation how many matches would've gone beyond 25 overs ?
