RE: Ofcom Discussion - fedup1 - 27-04-2012 13:23

Here we are again with another complaint against ofcom calling them toothless and witless,,It will take one minute to read to bottom but says they are NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

http://wispa.me/news/ofcom-toothless-witless-clueless-decide/

I picked up this nugget of data because our MP is lobbying ofcom to ban UP TO broadband speeds..They dont fucking do anything yet they get high over the top wages but for what..They are not doing their job and costing me and you millions.

I and millions of others have complained to ofcom for whatever reason which begs the question,"WHAT DO OFCOM ACTUALLY DO"?

It does seem the only sodding thing they act on is female nudity,,they are doing fuck all for the telecommunications industry or anything else in their tiny sexist/useless/overpaid minds..

There are other brands that are complaining to ofcom but cant be bothered explaning it all,,WHO will take oftwats off the face of the planet ? maybe not one person or company but a whole bunch of us pissed off with these useless tory overpaid numpties..

Oh and we are up to 629 votes which still encouraging.

RE: Ofcom Discussion - eccles - 28-04-2012 01:59

Ofcom ought to insist that a condition of an ISL licence is investment in cabling up rural and remote areas at a rate calculated to complete the job in a reasonable timescale, say 5 years, but not 100.

We take it for granted that remote areas have post, roads, water and electricity. These all involve cross subsidy. We take it for granted that remote parts of Scotland, Wales, East Anglia and Yorkshire can receive TV despite the low viewer to transmitter ratio.

But it won't happen unless the same conditions are forced on every supplier. The result could be rural communinities where children cannot do their homework, telecommunters cant and executives cannot connect, resulting in an exodus of the young and affluent.

I don't understand why a few people complaining should dictate what people want to watch. If you don't like something then change the channel or go off and do something else. Also when I read articles on newspapers about people complaining about certain content on tv, it seems the top comments are against the people that complain about certain content shown on tv.

Check out this link and read the comments about how people are sick and tired of people complaining about stupid things and should get a life.

There are other articles about how parents want their children protected from porn online and want internet search engines such as google to put a block on internet sites, but google blames the parents if they are exposed to porn online. Check out the link below and see the top comments believe the parents are to blame

Good point dan g 77, I tried your link to the Daily Mail website where they eloquently explained just offensive their readers find a cartoon from the Confused.com advert showing a woman in her underwear.

Fuck me this is just getting petty now, so what happens when you take your children to the swimming baths now, what about all the eye candy on display, this society and Ofcom need to get a fucking grip, so what's the solution then, maybe the government could put a ban of anybody getting pregnant next so that they don't have to grow up in this truly dangerous world of porn and sexualised content, I'll tell you what the main threat is and allways has been is knowingly letting terrorists into this country and then allowing them to plot attacks such as what happened on the 7th July 2005, that's dangerous, not porn, also religious groups also who plot attrociates such as September 11th 2001 when once again it wasn't in the name of porn this attack was carried out but in the name of religion. This country and society needs to get a fucking grip on the real issues, no wonder the UK is the most unpopular Country in the whole of Europe when you see them getting worked up about shit like this and then sending out our young soldiers out to places like Iraq and Afghanistan all in the name of freedom, yet you only need to look at the bigger problems on our own doorstep to see the bigger problems lye here bladewave

You are right Scottishbloke your government should be concentrating on real problems like the economy, terrorism and other important issues, which the vast amount of people worry about. This issue about children being exposed to porn should be the parents responsibility not the government

RE: Ofcom Discussion - Scottishbloke - 28-04-2012 22:23

And to be honest I work long and hard hours, pay my taxes and porn is actually one of the few things nice left in this world, it's a way to relax and escape from the doom and gloom of the country, yes it's bad enough when we have a government fucking up our country and the economy without crossing the line into what we like to view in the privacy of our own home, what we view is our business, nobody else's. I'm 34 years old yet I can't see anything decent on SKY because of fucking Ofcom, it really leaves a bad taste in my mouth, when Scotland gets independance this will all change as Ofcom hopefully will be dismantled and no more, I certainly don't think that censorship is high on the list of priorities when it comes to the SNP, infact it's the bloody English who are making all the noises, our Scottish MP's couldn't give 2 shits what is aired on a late night babe channel, unlike the English they have more important issues to even give it a second thought.

But does it make a difference if Scotland gets independence, because the channels are located in England, a British government will be established still without Scotland if they gain independence and that government may still want to keep Ofcom and keep ofcoms strangle hold on the right to watch whatever you want

Lets hope Ofcom dont get control of beaches, swimming pools and art galleries.

One thing that gets me time and time again, apart from the censorship, is the £££ wasted on it, by Ofcom but also by the broadcasters who have to set up expensive compliance operations that run full time and investigations.

You can bet broadcasters spend £10 for every £1 Ofcom spends launching a complaint.

RE: Ofcom Discussion - Scottishbloke - 29-04-2012 00:16

The thing that baffles me and allways has about the repressive censorship in this country is that we live in a free society, so much so I can openingly critise the government and call David Cameron a fucking arsehole without fear of arrest or retribution. The adult channels really need to start to realise the fact that the authorties that are Ofcom can be challenged and should hold no fear whatsoever, surely the channel execs could at least call for some kind of meeting face to face into showing some kind of relaxation into the current rules and regulations. Infact if they did this they would show Ofcom that they at least have some balls and simply aren't going to be pushed around anymore, the watershed rule should be challenged for a start.
