If a post is dated 3rd November 2010 and reads something along the lines, "Did anyone see Bailiey with her twit out on 954 last night?" Ofcom can then make up a complaint and request the recording for 2nd Novmber 2010. Once they have the recording, they can use it against the channel in question.

surely thats fraud? they need to report to the serious crimes unit at scotland yard.

where did the thousands of complaints about xfactor come from?

The chances of tampering with the material are too great. However, direct recordings are a much more solid evidence in any legal proceeding. Thus the requests for recordings and keeping evidence as means of compliance.

I think the point mrmann was originally making was that Ofcom get enough tip-offs from this site to warrant them asking the channel for the recording. I don't think he was suggesting Ofcom use evidence directly from here to process a fine.

BINGO!

That is outside their remit and legislative powers. Audience complaints, compliance tests and routine monitoring of channels at the time of broadcast are the only authorised ways that evidence can be compiled and collated.

Investigating via material posted in this forum is an abuse of their position. I have filed an information request with Ofcom regarding this practice and forwarded it to my MP Malcolm Wicks. Hopefully in the new year we can hear why Ofcom has chosen to behave in this fashion and which channels have been victims of this harassment.

Yes, that's very well explained StanTheMan and exactly correct. Or as mrmann put it.... BINGO!

Effing typical of this forum and it's perverted and degraded members to only flag this up later instead of when it's happening.

As a completely lazy bastard OFCOM sleeper I was expecting you lot would flag these incidents as soon as they happened. My bosses ain't going to be happy.

Did I say I was an OFCOM sleeper? Ignore that. I'm not.

Bwaaa, haaaa, haaaa.

Yo-ho-ho/Bah Humbug*

It's Xmas Eve, and I've just flicked over from watching "My Family" to see a three girl opening although none of the web streams are up yet.

Annie Bullah opens on 902, Kerry Louise on 948 and on 915, well it's not just Santa that's going to be coming tonight as Adele has her first 9.00pm start post Banggate. Tori is also scheduled to be working so as KL only works until 1.00am I presume Tori's got the late shift.

* delete as applicable
