See the IAAF has rubber stamped its decision to suspend Russian athletes from Rio Olympics IOC set to make it's own decision on Tuesday...What's the betting that UEFA will suspend Russia fro next Euro qualifying competition. doubt there will be little change to move 2018 from Russia by FIFA or if there any pressures from FIFA members to move tournament given the level of violence shown by Russian fans in this competition

What's current position on teams pulling out through worries over Zika virus? do we know if any teams aren't going?

Russia.

My understanding is that the Russian Track and Field team are banned.
Individual competitors are allowed if they can prove that they are not connected to the Russian Federation regarding training and testing.

And I take it that the rest of the Russian teams are allowed to compete

I see that golfer Rory McIlroy has pulled out of the Brazil Olympics because of fears of the zika virus

The IOC have said they would rather clean athletes compete as Russia which I think is good

RE: Olympics - Charlemagne - 28-06-2016 13:21

World no1 golfer Jason Day has also pulled out of the Rio Olympics due to the zika virus

RE: Olympics - Charlemagne - 09-07-2016 10:07

American Dustin Johnson's the 3rd top golfer to pull out of the olympics due to the zika virus

If they can prove they have been tested reliably and not by Russia's testing labs and have a blood passport they may be able to compete.

RE: Olympics - HannahsPet - 12-07-2016 16:06

basically its the ones that are not usally based in russia so have proof from other labs and in competition testing to rely on can compete. think also true of some kenyan athletes as well because problems with there labs
