The Macao 5 include players like Mark Selby, Ali Carter and Luca Brecel. As they had withdrawn from the NI Open to play in Macao, WPBSA confirmed they won't be re-admitted into the event so can't pick up any ranking points from it, so Luca can't overtake Ronnie as World no.1 and Carter has to make the best of his run in the Wuhan Open.

On BBC2 the other night, so probably on iPlayer if you missed it. Seemed a bit smoother interview than some, but I think I've already read 1 of his books, and am not interested in another, even if every page has him slagging people off. They discussed his world record 147; Ronnie predictably is not happy about it.

I hate that Tubs Murphy. If Ronnie gets banned for playing tours and exhibitions in China while ranking tournaments are on I'm blaming it on Tubs

There was also scheduled some prog on channel 5 the other day, Snooker900 or something? Did anyone see/hear owt?

Mark Selby beat Ali Carter in the final of Macao Masters - Event 1, the controversial one.
Stephen Hendry beat Jimmy White in the final of Snooker 900.
Snooker 900 was like snooker shoot out for seniors. Only seniors were invited to enter, each frame was maximum 900 seconds (15 minutes), every match, even the final, was just one frame.

I did watch the Ronnie O'Sullivan documentary entitled 'The Edge of Everything' on Amazon Prime the other day. A fascinating and compelling watch of nearly two hours.

New invitational tournament has been announced for 4-6 March in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Riyadh Season World Masters of Snooker. The players invited will be the top 8 players on the official 2 year ranking list after The Players Championship.
A new golden ball rule is planned for this tournament. If a player makes a 147 break they will be given the opportunity to pot a golden ball worth 20 points to increase the break to 167.
Barry Hearn the Chairman of the WPBSA has signed off on the tournament, so presumably his sycophant Tubs Murphy will support it and try his hardest to earn the ranking points that will enable him to participate.
