There's no chance of an appeal being heard before the next match and FIFA have already said that the lodging of an appeal is not 'suspensive' - which means that any appeal would not result in the sentence being suspended until the appeal is heard. RE: World Cup 2014 Brasil - malicious fan - 26-06-2014 16:18 he got offered help after the second bite as well but it sounds like liverpool kept it internal i just heard on sky sports news. so the help hasnt worked then by the sound of it. i wonder if dr steve peters will be out of a job now then! Someone got done for biting someone in a pub row, and he lost his job, got arrested etc etc. Now how much value do we as society place on these people just to kick a football around. this is absolute bollocks. football is a law unto itself and is not governed by the same rules and regulations as the real world. Probably didn't want to accept a bribe for match fixing RE: World Cup 2014 Brasil - lovebabes56 - 26-06-2014 16:41 (26-06-2014 14:24 )HannahsPet Wrote: the Fifa Statement in full All I will say is FIFA have let him off lightly IMO I expected longer I think now they have to get tough on this. Biting has to carry a straight red card in ALL competitions and a possible six months ban and should be adopted for all professional soccer games whether it be international, European or domestic. they have to show that biting is serious and like spitting has to be viewed as unacceptable behaviour on a soccer pitch and am I right in thinking spitting carries a automatic straight red now or not? I remember the infamous incident from a Germany Vs Holland World Cup match when I think Voller spat at Rijkkaard. I know both were sent off but I wasn't sure at the time if it was a red card offence. RE: World Cup 2014 Brasil - Joey 27 - 26-06-2014 17:03 he is banned from all comps, but the ban should be for the rest of the world cup, then from the start of next season in august, there's no point him being banned in july when he won't be playing any competitive football anyway, so as i said its really only a 3 month ban, if Uruguay go far in the world cup then its punishment for him as he won't be able to play but if they go out in the next round then the ban would be meaningless till mid august RE: World Cup 2014 Brasil - circles_o_o_o - 26-06-2014 17:04 USA Today Wrote:Muntari was suspended "in the wake of his unprovoked physical attack on an executive committee member of the GFA and a management member of the Black Stars, Mr. Moses Armah" on Tuesday, one statement read. |
