^If they have been kept on remand before the trial, possibly even less time for that.

It may not be the same as defacing the Collesuem or the Japanese temple, but it is something that had existed for hundreds of years and was important to locals.
Throw the book at them, the fact is, defacing or destroying things of significance, whatever they may be should involve a massive fine or a decent jail term.
People won't stop doing these stupid acts of vandalism unless the punishment is a big enough detterant. Give them 5+ years in jail. Cunts.

RE: General News Thread - lovebabes56 - 15-05-2024 19:49

I hope they do get the book thrown at them, and I hope the National Trust (who own the land I believe and was responsible for the tree), also impose a lifetime ban on them enterng ANY national parks in UK withbthe threat of immediate arrest if they do.

But I do hope they're jailed for at leat 15 years.

What was their defence for cutting the tree down?

^ You should join Reform Trust mate and support an armed coup at the National Trust to get them to build watch towers every 50 yards at NT owned property so they can catch these blighters if they go on NT land. They only own 620,000 acres.

Please explain how if the maximum sentence they can get if found guilty is 10 years you want them to get 15 years.

Now I do suggest you do a tiny bit of research into the Criminal Justice system in the UK because they have not been tried or found guilty so they certainly have not put up any defence yet.

Would never have joined this forum if i knew it had members who are tree huggers.

RE: General News Thread - The Silent Majority - 16-05-2024 00:23

That wasn't a random act of vandalism. They went a fucking long way, with a fucking big saw, specifically to do that.

There's more to this than meets the eye...

Any other types who you'd discriminate against & choose not to join. If we all had that attitude there'd be no forum.
Live & let live I say, much in the same way as trees, that serve a purpose, we'd be shafted without them.

RE: General News Thread - Charlemagne - 16-05-2024 08:39

If they'd (if they are found guilty) chopped any old tree down they would have just had a fine or just community service. And the case would have concluded at the Majistrates Court.

The stupid thing is that by sending them to prison means that more dangerous prisoners are being released early.

Was given a fine & released. But this arrest meant her concert in Manchester at the Co-Op live arena tonight was cancelled. It doesn't rain but it pours for the Co-Op Live laugh
