Cardiff supporters on Twitter suggesting Derby County called their match off due to an injury crisis at Pride Park while using the weather as an excuse . This argument could get a bit tasty .

A club cannot call a match off.
The decision to postpone a match can only be made by the local council, the police or the match referee.

You are entirely correct William. You have outlined the position perfectly.
However, in this case there's a suggestion that things were not done as they should have been and the correct procedures were not followed

Yes conflicting statements have been issued today on how exactly the decision was reached. The Football League are investigating whether in fact the correct procedures were followed or not.

Derbyshire Police are apparently saying that it was Derby themselves that called off the match, Derby County say the weather had left the area surrounding Pride Park in a unsafe condition .
