England were well beaten by New Zealand in the 1st ODI.They were 40 0r 50 runs short of a good total, but with Woakes & Dernbach going for too many that wouldn't have been enough.

2nd ODI New Zealand 359-3 Guptill 189 not out

England 70-2 after 13 overs

Better to do poorly now than in the ICC Champions Trophy Wink.
Poor bowling effort from England today. Dernbach was horrendously expensive.

New Zealand win by 86 runs

Trott made a consolation century.

We need to get the test bowlers in the team & get Mat Prior in as the specialist wicketkeeper/batsman and get
King Kevin fit again

The problem is that the 3rd match is dead, but any changes will be pointless as they can only make changes to the Champions Trophy squad if a player is injured.

Half an hour of carnage (to quote David Gower) where Josh Buttler got 47 off 16 balls, saw England reach 287-6 off their 50 overs.
He was helped by a 49 (40 balls) by Eon Morgan...

It gives England a chance after another slow start.

England beat New Zealand by 34 runs

A much improved batting & bowling performance,by replacing Woakes, who is meant to be a front-line bowler who can bat, with Bopara,a front-line batsman & useful bowler,it lengthen the batting & they got away with a combined 5th bowling option of Root & Bopara with 11-0-55-1.Also Tredwell is a better wicket taking spinner in ODI's than Swann. He dismissed arguably their 3 best batsmen,Brendan Mccullum,Taylor & Guptill,

England lost the 1st T20 by 5 runs.A really good game that could have gone either way.3 or 4 of our Test players would have made a difference, but they have other more important matches ahead.KP should be available for the 2nd match.

Yes a very good match yesterday - a good example of what T20 is at its best and should be about. As for the result, I notice that England bowled 11 wides and New Zealand only 4 in a match decided by 5 runs.
