RE: T20 Blast - Boomerangutangangbang - 01-06-2024 09:32 This years Blast started on Thursdays, in what has been described as a 4 day festival, in conjunction with the Women's T20 Charlotte Edwards Cup, with Men's & Women's Double-Headers at Hampshire Utilita Bowl & Old Trafford. Slightly undermined (imho) by the fact that it clashed with the final T20I between England & Pakistan. On Friday 3 more Double-Headers were staged at the Riverside, Trent Bridge & Taunton. Saturday 1st June sees a Men's Double-Header at Edgbaston, with the Falcons & Foxes at 14.30 followed by the Bears v Outlaws at 18.30. The 7 venue Double-Headers conclude on Sunday at the Kia Oval & Northampton. RE: T20 Blast - Doddle - 22-06-2024 13:32 Yorkshire beat Lancashire yesterday, fair do's. Yorkshire followed up Thursdays Rose victory with a narrow loss to Durham by 3 runs. Despite having an International Class top 4 they have been prone to some shocking batting collapses. A big improvement is required to stand any chance of qualifying for the knockout stages. RE: T20 Blast - Boomerangutangangbang - 13-07-2024 13:40 The T20 Rose match was abandoned without a ball bowled last night due to a wet outfield. I have no doubt that other issues played there part in the match being called off. In the previous month the ground has staged two gigs by the Foo Fighters & a further by Green Day a little over 3 weeks ago. All that moshing about on the covered outfield causes damage that takes some time to repair & recover. I suspect under normal circumstances the weather would've allowed for some play at least, if no a full match. It is a difficult balance for clubs, who have to bring in revenue from other sources, but it's primary concern must surely be cricket. I can remember some issues during a Test Match after another concert had been staged. |
