For sure. Even if Mando has only just about managed to retain its reputation (built on a solid all-of-a-piece first two seasons) following a wandering largely sub-par third run. This most recent season seemed like a longwinded exercise in trying to get to a point where the series can reset itself as a classic 'rogue sheriff/bounty hunter in remote lawless outpost' set-up.

As an aside, these ponderings remind me to point out an influence I don't think I've seen mentioned anywhere else in the commentary of this show. Older viewers may recall the British 70s show Blake's 7 being described as "The Dirty Dozen/Magnificent Seven [the old wild west theme again see] in Space" on its launch. Well watch the Mandalorian's (season 3) banding together of the seven disperate outlaws for a raid on the fascistic federation's vital outpost again - via a prison planet to boot - and tell me someone on the writing staff wasn't riffing on the early parts of the forty year old Terry Nation show! 3 episodes in and I'm enjoying it, do I have a blank stare sometimes whilst trying to figure out what certain words mean..sure but hey bounty hunting action with a baby yoda, what's not to like. Looking forward to the next few episodes.
