Grandstand 1980

See how many sports the BBC used to do and good old presenter Des 'Mr Smooth' Lynam.

Not a patch on Grandstand but for equality here is World of Sport with Dickie Davies (funny change of music midway!)

The Big Match-now this is something I've never heard before-the full version music 1970's. It is called 'La Soiree' by David Ordini.

See if you can recognise any of the footballers, I spotted quite a few.

Johnny Pearson the conductor of the orchestra on Top of the Pops wrote this memorable theme-who amongst us didn't sit down to watch avidly SUPERSTARS-someone mentioned it earlier in this thread-well here you go, just for you, the theme tune.

Introduced by David Vine and Ron Pickering-probably two of the best presenters around.
