^^ That proves hendo is better than suarez Tongue

RE: Liverpool FC - Pyro - 05-05-2012 20:07

After watching the FA cup final there was one player that we needed most "Lucus" Sad Someone who is very disciplined, tackles hard, brakes up play and is a back four dream!!!

Felt Henderson and Spearing counldn't handle the movement of Mata and Ramires as they kepted popping up all over the place so Gerrard had to help out so Suarez had no-one to play off!!! Think we might need another midfielder with more experience?! But one player that spared our blushs was Andy Carroll who bullied Terry an co and was unplayerable when he came on so why hasn't he done this more often???

We need to beat Chelski, Swansea and hope that Everton slip up so at least we can finish above themBig Grin

I don't know if I'm alone here or not but I feel Dalglish should step down after this season.

I've got a lot of respect for the guy but I don't think he's the right man to take us forward.

Watching him to talk to the media is just plain awkward and I dont understand some of his selections at times (e.g. persisting with Henderson or the underuse of Maxi)

Anyone agree/disagree?

Ive been reading the LFC forum and everyone is calling for King kenny to step down, we lost a match , i know it was a final but who got us to the final and we won the carling cup. I think the players are to blame more than KK, they have not steped up. Also people have to remember we are not the same liverpool we were a couple of years ago, we used to have alonso and mascherano (who are in two of the best teams in the world) but now have henderson, adam, downing and spearing. while the likes of man city, spurs, chelsea, man utd and arsenal were getting stronger we had two american tw*ts in charge which almost sent us into administration. This is kk first full season in charge and we have won a cup and got to the final of the other, our league form has been terrible but we have also been unlucky we have hit the woodwork 30 something times this season, imagine if they all went in? I think kk will be backed in the summer to bring in some quality players and we can push on from there, we just need time and patience.

I dont think henderson is upto scratch maybe in 2 years time when hes more mature and gained more experience training alongside gerrard, as for spearing he has passion and thats it i dont think he has that presence, and yes we missed lucas this season he was superb until he got injured. as for the team selection, maxi should have started instead of spearing with gerrard in midfield with henderson and maxi playing off suarez or even on the left. i dont think bellamy should av started hes more of a sub player for the last 20mins.
AS much as i like kenny dalglish as a player, i think he should step down end of the season, allowing liverpool time to recruit a new manager so he can start work on shufflin the team for next season. woudl be nice to find a manager willing to use aquilani (when fit of course) and also joe cole (exceptional season in france) yes i kno its the french league Smile . we need a goal poucher next season, a decent def midfield to cover lucas and centre back to backup agger, skrtl and coates. maybe a winger if we r lucky lol

Spearing should never have started he showed today an against fulham that he is not good enough for Liverpool seems Stevie had to keep coming back to help Henderson an Spearing who were getting over run which left Suarez isolated.

I dont get why we didn't start Suarez an Carroll up front with Stevie an Henderson in the center heck i would have even started shevley instead of spearing as i think he is a better player.

An Enrique had a nightmare as well if his passes were not intercepted he kepted misplacing them needs to find the form he had at the start of the season again

Good to see Carroll score though another sign that he is starting to come good which is encouraging.

RE: Liverpool FC - Mr77 - 06-05-2012 01:06

I think Spearing has been quality this season and is a future captain of the club , I think Henderson needs to be sold as we have Adam, Spearing, Stevie, Lucas & Shelvey and he is the odd one out as he's always being played out of position because of this , I do think Jordan's a good player just probably should of stayed at Sunderland. On King Kenny I think he should step down as he seems out of date tactically, my opinion is he was out of the game too long having last managed 11 years before he steped in. I personaly want Jose Mourinho as every club he,s managed he's always met the target handed to him and the fact that he's won the league with every club he's been at which is obviously the target for us.

RE: Liverpool FC - vinny0874 - 06-05-2012 10:21

well i think if we have a midfield of shelvey, adam and spearing as captain we will win the championship after being relegated next season!!!!!

RE: Liverpool FC - sweetsugar007 - 06-05-2012 10:53

Its frightening that once our midfield was Alonso,Mascherano,Gerrard and
Garcia. We have overpaid for Charlie Adam I thought he was no more than a 3-4 million pound player who could be a good no.8 Henderson was unproven and ridiculously overpriced and Downing starting to look like a no.6 he doesnt have the pace to attack the outside left line.

To be fair I thought 35 million for Carroll was good business at the time considering we had got rid of Torres and Babel and I am prepared to still stand by that. We need two good attacking wingers to service him another holding midfielder and another centre back at least to add to the two strikers we also need.

Dalglish is not the man tactically the game has moved on since he was last in charge its only when we went 442 yesterday it became a game. You have to press Chelsea as they dont play with intensity he should have known that everyone else did. They have a good hour in them and then you can hit them hard.

A British only or predominant British recruitment policy will be a painfully expensive lesson for Liverpool this has to change. Newcastle have been very clever in how they have acquired inexpensive foreign talent. Would you have Papiss Cisse in your side or Suarez? Demba Ba or Dirk Kuyt. Challenging times ahead for us Koppites!

RE: Liverpool FC - mitchell - 06-05-2012 14:33

Some of the slating of our players mostly since yesterday has been a bit silly & as far as I'm concerned not very well explained.

People seem to think Jay Spearing isn't good enough, they express this by saying he doesn't have the experience Sad how do people think you gain that experience??? The people saying this are the same fans who slated Lucas & now seem to think our season has been shit due to him being injured. Talk about being hypocritical!!!

Some of you think Jonjo Shelvey is a good player but he's not being played as he's being used the way young players are used by giving them experience little by little. If he was in the team every week you'd be saying the same as you are about Henderson as they are similar player, you need to remember this is Spearing’s breakthrough season & he's been heavily relied on as the only defensive midfield player.

Jordan Henderson has got the ability & no he's not gonna replace Steven Gerrard as he's one of the best midfield players of the past 10 years & that’s in world football. Henderson isn't a winger he's a central player similar to Raul Meireles, a player who isn't gonna tear up trees on his own but will move forward with the play & make little runs into the right spaces in & around the box with the possibility of 8 to 12 goals a season in a top team performing at their best.

Charlie Adam would never have cost £3-4m after the season he had. He's a quality player & £9m would be a good price in the right balanced midfield, i.e. a 3 man set up Adam Lucas Gerrard, Lucas to break up play Gerrad to pick the ball up & drive forward or Adam to spray passes like Xabi Alonso used to with Gerrard surging forward to play off the striker.
When buying players like this you know you’re buying them for their individual talent & nothing else, this is the reason he was shit when Lucas got injured as he had to play the defensive role a role he clearly wasn't capable of.

Stewart Downing is an old school winger but lacks the pace of the modern game & in most top teams would be a decent squad player i.e. Florent Malouda yet we use him as our main outlet when attacking especially when Carroll is playing this is also to the detriment of Henderson who's stuck on the right not getting the ball. £20m for a squad player was just bad business, very bad business!!!

Andy Carroll... Wow!!! he's just not a very good player at this level especially over a 50 odd game season & for someone to say they through £35m was good business is just plain crazy, Fernando Torres even with a hat-trick in the Champions League won't pay back the £50 spent on him so how we justify £35m I'll never know.
Yes he did well when he came on yesterday but Craig Bellamy has changed games when he's come on & Maxi has more than done well in a few of the games he's started, Carroll is the sort of £8m player that teams like Everton, Sunderland, Fulham & Stoke would splash out on.

A domestic cup albeit the least desired with its £100,000 winners prize & an FA Cup final even with a win just isn't good enough given we'll finish about 30 or so points off the league winners & even more so about 10 points off the Champions League places, we've been way way off the pace over the 38 games & for the people who say it's the players fault, well who do you think arms them with the formation & tactics to go out & play with... The same person who bought some of them.
Constantly playing players out of position like Jordan Henderson & Craig Bellamy especially who has pace to burn & an eye for goal is crazy given our struggle for goals this season. On that note the hitting the bar/post 30 time isn’t an excuse or unlucky as some of the chances should have been on target & then may have resulted in goals.

I wasn't too sure about Kenny Dalglish coming back in the first place it was a fans reaction from American businessmen to get the fans on side after ousting two other American businessmen. Yes he's been out of the game for far too long & the system & style of play & player has moved on far more than the 11 or so years he's been away & I doubt he did much to keep up with the times during his away decade in terms of management thinking as he wasn't linked with or applied for any jobs in that time which says he wasn't desperate to get back into it, I'd say the only reason he did was due to it being us.

Kenny's a top man manager & would do well working alongside Rodolfo Borrell but as a tactician of the modern game it's sadly just not there or at least for where a club like ours needs it to be, Stoke maybe even Fulham but he just falls short with where we are trying to get.

All these newspaper journos who are coming out with Kenny's status as a Kop legend is under threat is nothing short of plain & utter fucking ludacris!!! do they not remember or even know the amount of work & emotion he put into the club & more so the 96 families of Hillsborough over the years, I remember reading he went to 4 funerals on the same day, now I'm sorry if his emotions run high in some press conferences at times when Liverpool are being put into question but if situations like 4 funerals in one day is true then you can understand why. This coupled with how great he was as a player (Our greatest ever) & his first spell in charge as manager, 3 First Division titles, 2 FA Cups & 4 Charity Shields (2 shared) in just 6 years is why The King will never be considered as anything but.

Liverpool Football Club need to get back to where we were a few years ago which was on the edge of getting back into the swing of things & for the first ever time in the Premier League era, Rafa Benítez was as close as we have ever been, tactically a great manager & looking forward someone like Roberto Martinez who I think is on the edge of being one of a number of young manager around Europe who are set for big things at the right club, look at who & why Barcelona have just appointed Tito Vilanova, we're missing a big opportunity in not looking at Roberto Martinez.

"Would you have Papiss Cisse in your side or Suarez? Demba Ba or Dirk Kuyt".
Looking at Ba's record since Cisse has arrived I'd rather have Dirk Kuyt in our squad & playing the right formation & tactics Luis Suarez every day thanks for asking though!!!
