Finally a win for Ireland, just ! After 7 T20 & 3 ODI losses they got the job done, chasing down a target 169 against an Afghanistan side including the spin threat of Rashid Khan, Mujeeb & Nabi. Not sure about the Belfast wicket, if it turned or not, but they go again tomorrow.

^Not usually a raging turner at the Civil Service ground. A win is a win, but T20 is not - and I can't see how it will be - the format that suits Ireland. The argument some have made that the then associates (now full members) are better suited to thrashathon doesn't hold up as far as Ireland are concerned. Their ODI results are what would concern me. It has been sporadic to say the least, although they should have won the recent series against NZ

Winning is a habit, as Ireland win by 5 wickets in the 2nd T20 against Afghanistan. Dockrell cleared the ropes to get home with 6 balls remaining. Can't believe he's only 30, although he did debut as a 17 year old.
