"Coronavirus: Government quietly publishes figures which reveal it overstated number of people tested.
New data published quietly online yesterday reveals only 1.6m had been tested by mid-May - not 1.8m as previously claimed."

'A patient in his 30's in Texas who died of the coronavirus attended a "Covid party" because they believed the virus was a hoax'

Chancellor Rishi Sunak "warns" of 'grave choices' over public finances - are we looking at a new round of austerity measures? I get the feeling that it will take a decade or more to to fully pay for this pandemic...

Didn't Trump believe it didn't exist either before the shit hit the US?

£100 fine for not wearing a mask or face covering which will be mandatory in shops from July 24th

Why do we have to wait until the 24th of July?
Is it less contagious at the moment but will start being worse the week after next so we'll have to start wearing masks then? Is there such a short supply perhaps?

This last week I have returned from furlough and gone about my business. I've noticed a vast variation in the level of precautions being taken. I appreciate that each location will have produced a slightly different risk assessment and no doubt there's been different levels of enforcement but here's some idea of the range seen.
Best
All staff wearing face shields, disposable gloves, social distancing, direction signs and one way system, people spraying sanitiser around, booking in and out.

Fixed plastic screens in front of servers, social distancing, liberal use of sanitiser, booking in and out.

Fixed plastic screens, they'll move out of your way if you stand there and look at them.

Complains that they're losing business through my refusal to work on site where they cannot provide a hygenic location but would come in when they're normally closed to allow me to work safely.

Tried to work in my secure area and when challenged remarked that premises are open now. I pointed out that that's for customers and that it's different for people at work. Commented that employer provided a mask that he doesn't wear because it doesn't fit.

Working side by side, touching and kissing intimately.

^ The only reason that makes sense for the delay on implementing the face mask rule is to give people who haven't already got one the chance to do so.

You don't, you can cover your face any time you want. You can also use something that isn't a mask if you want such as a bandana, t-shirt, plastic bag.
