^apparantly the Hamilton fans were calling for Managers head 5 minutes into the game after they went 1-0 down. They brought and let off a smoke flare and something that caused a big bang as well. Hope Garcia Tena injury isn't that serious, he went down holding his right knee

Hearts lost as well.

Quite liking this format of Scottish League Cup especially the pen shootout after draws for bonus point should do it in english leagues Wink

RE: Scottish Football - mikedafc - 24-07-2016 18:33

In Betfred Games on Saturday
Airdrie 2 Stenhousemuir 1, Annan Ath 1 Motherwell 3, Ayr united 1 Edinburgh City 0
Clyde 1 Berwick 1 (6-5 pens), Cowdenbeath 0 Dunfermline Athletic 3, Dundee 6 Dumbarton 2
East Fife 2 Peterhead 1, Elgin City 4 Brechin City 2, Hamilton Accies 3 St Mirren 0
Inverness CT 1 Dundee Utd 1 (1-4 pens), Kilmarnock 0 Morton 2, Montrose 0 Allow Athletic 2
Patrick Thistle 2 Queen of the South 1, Ross County 1 Raith 1 (3-4 pens) St Johnstone 3 Falkirk 0
East Stirling 0 Rangers 3
I liked the way BT Sport showed the penalties at Arbroath V Dundee Utd game , made you see it from player perspective.

^ A lot of lower league clubs who know they have little chance of progressing from groups are happy with format as they are making some money while still getting vital games to tone up for new league seasons

In Betfred Cup Games, Group A: East Fife lost to Forfar 2-0 and Peterhead beat Dundee 2-1 meaning East Fife have 8 points from their 4 games and will progress unless Forfar 5pts beat Dundee 4pts. Peterhead 6pts will progress if they beat Dumbarton(1pt)
In Group B: St Johnstone drew 1-1 with Brechin(2-4 pens) but top group with 7pt and will progress if they beat Stirling Albion(6pts), Falkirk(3pts) play Brechin(5pts) with Falkirk needing a 4 goal win to have a chance of progressing. Elgin are out after losing 4-1 to Stirling.
In Group C: Dundee Utd have 7pts as do Inverness, Dunfermline have 6pts after Inverness beat Dunfermline 5-1. Inverness will progress by beating Arbroath(1pt). Dundee Utd play Dunfermline in BT Sport game on Sunday with Dunfermline needing a win to progress.
In Group D: Alloa(9pts) progress after beating and knocking out defending champions Ross County from competition 3-2, Raith(8pts) also progress.
In Group E: Rangers(12pts) progressed having won against Stranraer 3-0. Motherwell(6pts) beat East Stirling 3-0 and now go to Stranraer(6pts) to see who progresses with Rangers.
In Group F: Ayr have 9pts from 4 games after beating Livingston 2-0, St Mirren(6pts) can get to 9 pts by beating Edinburgh but need 4 goal victory to prevent Ayr from progressing while Hamilton(3pts) need to beat Edinburgh City(Wednesday) and Livingston to progress.
