Tobias Ellwood is one of the few Tory MP's that I'd trust.

Boris's rabble will do anything to stop Penny Mourdant from the next PM. bladewave

At the time I asked people who voted no why they voted no, and the most common answer I got is that they wanted to remain in the EU and they had been repeatedly told that an independent Scotland wouldn't be in the EU.

Funny that I asked at that time as well and the main reason was distrust of the SNP....and that remains today....

The thing is that if Scotland becomes independent who is to say that the SNP would even exist at that point. If Scottish independence is achieved then the SNP would have achieved its main goal, the SNP may then (either quick or gradually) fold and Scottish politics would then return to conventional left wing/right wing politics along with other western liberal democracies, the only difference would be that it would be inline with the needs/wants/desires of the people of Scotland.

Hard to see anything but Sunak v Truss now I suspect. The Badenoch supporters are very unlikely to vote for Mordaunt barring a dramatic shift in thinking.

Looking more & more like Truss to be PM as Sunak is polling badly amongst members, though the sample size is low.

Problems for Rishi:

Hight tax burden, Con base love low taxes

Despite him voting leave & Truss remain, Sunak is seen as being soft on Brexit & Truss hard

Johnson is still very popular amongst the members, Sunak as he was Chancellor & the second to resign which in a way started the momentum will be seen by many as the main culprit of Johnson's downfall. He's Michael Heseltine guilty of regicide

Loses whip: Tory MP who misses confidence vote because he had meeting in Moldova.

Keeps whip: MP accused of rape and under police investigation(but he is asked to stay away from Parliament).

Well done Boris Johnson.

Theoretically a three way tie of 119-119-119 is now possible Tongue.
What fun Bounce.

Then Boris steps in and declares none of the candidates has a majority so he is staying on bladewaveRolleyes.
