They are trying to build up the tension with the whole end of the world thing, but these dudes have no screen presence for me, they just look like creepy old guys in a bath robe, just need their care assistant to unplug the stannah stair lift and switch Emmerdale on, that'll put them in their place.

Not if you are a small humanoid.

I've thought this series was a little too scary for moggies.

Besides, they are more snister than scare, you got to want us; they sound like bunny boilers.

And they have invaded without actually firing a shot, in fact they forced it so they were invited in.

A lot better this week, although incredibly derivative and not all that dramatic.

Good to have three good leads, though.

This story was very reminiscent of the David Tennant story when he was trapped by the Master and made into an old man, and Martha travelled the earth spreading opposition. That story was much better executed than this one though, I found it very disappointing, it seemed like this finale was rushing from one scene to the next without any real flow to the storyline, and suddenly oh look we've won, happy ever after.
Even the reveal that it is actually Missy in the vault was somewhat unspectacular, as we had all guessed that by now anyhow. I'm guessing they were trying to recreate the whole Hannibal Lecter thing with the baddie in the cage helping the good guys beat the villain, but it just didn't really work for me.

^ It was yet another story obssessed with creating "cool" moments (most have which have been done better elsewhere) above creating a unified, satisfying, whole.

It's a bloody job the leads are so good. They are ensuring this season remains quite watchable atm.

There you go, I recall "Last of the Time Lords" as being utter crap, and though this was definitely pretty one-dimensional, it was helped by much better leads, and no silly CGI Dobby Tennant and that shite "the whole world wuvs the Doctah" ending.

After 2 weeks build up and we get that! Looks like the writers ran out of ideas, such a shame as it had quite a lot of promise. Oh well next week looks interesting Victorian soldiers on Mars vs it's best known residents.
