RE: Freeview channel changes - Censorship :-( - 18-09-2009 01:06 Very disappointing not to see any sign of Bang Babes; looks like we're stuck with Cellcasts’s efforts ![]() Talking of which, given that they will now be on high channel numbers, and grouped together, is there any chance that we’ll see an end to the seemingly interminable Freeview censorship that Cellcast have inflicted upon us for (upto) the last 6 months? Also, is there going to be any changes to the broadcast hours? RE: Freeview channel changes - vila - 18-09-2009 03:51 There seems to be a rumour to that effect: (17-09-2009 19:48 )Big Boobies Wrote: Hi there;guess what my meeting was cancelled! That I assume means that the Top Up TV Anytime channels from 38-41 will not be seen on the EPG. Haven't heard anything about it myself, but I'll keep you informed if I hear anything. It's an attempt to supposedly bring more order and logic to the channel listings. It's not a way of inventing new channels. RE: Freeview channel changes - vila - 22-09-2009 16:12 I think it is, because one of its stated aims is to make room for Freeview HD channels. I have also read that there will be a new ITV1+1 channel. This was in my TV mag last month ![]() RE: Freeview channel changes - elgar1uk - 23-09-2009 12:14 (22-09-2009 16:12 )vila Wrote: I think it is, because one of its stated aims is to make room for Freeview HD channels. Surely after the rearrangement the amount of room available will be the same as it was before? RE: Freeview channel changes - TheWatcher - 23-09-2009 13:49 The extra space only becomes available after the digital switchover. That is the prime reason for the digital switchover. Some of the extra space will be used by freeview for HD and extra channels. The remainder will be sold off to the telecoms companies for non-tv use. I assume frequencies and channels need to change so that all the TV frequencies are together and the frequency range to be sold off is not fragmented.
