RE: The "Pissed Off" Thread - dirk362 - 09-10-2011 12:39

My main encoding PC has just blown through the motherboard, fried the memory and CPU, and in the process managed to bugger 5TB of hard disks all of which now won't pass SMART diagnostics annoyed annoyed
So effectively thats £1000 of kit totally fucked and ready for the bin (all just over a year so not under warranty, and hard disks are not covered by power blow-outs).
This "hobby" has taken too much money that I can ill afford, and I've just lost loads of data that wasn't stored elsewhere.
Likely this is the start of the slippery slope of just giving up...

Welcome to the club Dirk. bladewave I lost 2 terabytes of data with a similar problem 12 months ago. And I'm still working on recovering data from it. It's a fucking slow process trying to recover data when your trying to rebuild headers and checksums with no frame of reference. But i'm a stubborn bastard that just won't give up. laugh

I'm pissed off because i've had to move into a nightclub that has no tv or internet and ended up spending every waking hour cleaning or making phone calls. The only plus side is i've pretty much have an open bar, within reason.

I'm pissed off at the attitude of some on this forum, who clearly have no respect for others and just blurt out stuff without heed to how it affects the recipient.
