RE: Smallville Season Nine - *Kal-El* - 27-03-2010 05:55

Here's two pieces of smallville news, the first part taken from mtv.com and second part from krptonsite:

Clark Kent and Lois Lane could be getting a new boss on "Smallville."

Kryptonsite is reporting that Blu Mankuma will appear in an episode later this year as Franklin Stern — the owner and publisher of the Daily Planet in the DC Universe. Stern was created by Louise Simonson and Jon Bogdanove in 1993 during the "Superman: The Man of Steel" series.

James Earl Jones portrayed Stern on a single episode of "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" during the first season of that show. Given the history of the character — and the upcoming return of Michael McKean as Perry White — it seems likely that Stern will assume ownership of the paper from Tess Mercer (Cassidy Freeman).

Mankuma — who recently appeared in the film "2012" — has an extensive resume of genre TV series, including "The X-Files," "The Outer Limits," "Forever Knight," "Robocop: The Series" and "Stargate SG-1."

Mankuma's character will appear alongside Gil Bellows as Maxwell Lord in the 19th episode of this season.

Smallville: Official CW Description For "Upgrade!"

Here's the CW's official description for "Upgrade," the April 16 episode of Smallville:

BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN RETURNS AS METALLO AND CLARK IS INFECTED WITH RED KRYPTONITE - Zod (Callum Blue) continues to pose as "The Blur" and asks Lois (Erica Durance) to investigate one of Tess' (Cassidy Freeman) secret labs. An explosion rocks the lab, and Lois is rescued by John Corben (guest star Brian Austin Green) who was a subject of multiple experiments. While investigating the explosion, Clark (Tom Welling) is exposed to red kryptonite. And infected Clark takes Zod to the Fortress. Tess turns to Chloe (Allison Mack) for help and they send in Corben to stop Clark from revealing all his secrets

Apparantly a major castmember is going to die in the finale, Clark and lois are prob safe. Which leaves chloe, ollie, tess, zod, martha and perry as the latter 2 are appearing later in the season. Allison Mack hasn't got a contract for next season yet, and considering chloe doesn't exist in the mythos, I reckon it's her, or Zod.
