Wee jimmy krankie will be blaming it on us english and be wanting a 2nd Ref because of it I hope you do play and Japan wipe the floor with you ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Rugby world cup Japan 2019 Discussion Thread - Starblade - 10-10-2019 15:18 The first thing that struck me, apart from the unfairness of not playing such an important and potentially exciting game, is that the name given to the manifestation that could lead to Scotland's demise, closely resembles a certain dish synonymous with the north. Coincidence? I think not ![]() RE: Rugby world cup Japan 2019 Discussion Thread - skully - 10-10-2019 15:21 Japan have been fantastic (team and hosts), but it is like we're being trolled by the Japanese weather people, the rascals. lol. Edit: Deleted my last post, can't be arsed with nonsense. I will agree it just doesn't seem fair they should be exploring every possible avenue to put the match on, as it is the tightest group of the lot, and you shouldn't be denied the chance to make progress. RE: Rugby world cup Japan 2019 Discussion Thread - hornball - 10-10-2019 18:08 ^ That has the greatest logic to it I think! There should be - I know the tournament is six weeks as it is - scope to wait until typhoon has passed before playing! That is after assessing what damage has been done! How far from where Scotland were due to play are the closed roof stadiums??, and is it beyond reasonable to see the game moved there?? As usual, the muck raking media have sought to make capital from this 'out of the blue' weather event, by questioning the IRB's decision to stage the tournament in Japan at all. Blatant opportunism from a typical source that didn't tell us they knew this Typhoon was likely - (they rarely are this time of year)! RE: Rugby world cup Japan 2019 Discussion Thread - hornball - 11-10-2019 14:49 So it looks like Scotland are going to have to threaten legal action (they believe there is something in the rules that they can exploit) to get their game against Japan played!! Otherwise they leave the tournament with a match abandonment!! I hope/we all do, that somehow they can have the opportunity to have their destiny in their own hands. Easy For E Jones to be 'understanding', given England have already qualified! If they had been impacted by this set of circumstances, he would not have sat on his hands, in a state of resigned acceptance! RE: Rugby world cup Japan 2019 Discussion Thread - Starblade - 11-10-2019 15:09 Yeah. I was disgusted with Eddie Jones' comments - if the BBC report was accurate. I have noticed the article has since disappeared. Saying "You only have yourself to blame for not accumulating enough points" when your team has only faced USA, Tonga and 14 man Argentina, is a dick move. RE: Rugby world cup Japan 2019 Discussion Thread - mikedafc - 11-10-2019 21:51 Have to laugh at Eddie Jones saying Scotland would only have themselves to blame if the Typhoon eliminates them as they should have got points early. Scotland had Ireland up first, the number one ranked team in the world while England had the minnows in first two games and the big game against France last which they don't have to now play and get extra rest before Q/Final You have to wonder why the WRU decided to schedule a world cup in Japan in Typhoon season |
