RE: French Open - Kingsmind - 08-06-2025 00:40 Exactly. He is still a top player for his age , he just struggles with top guys like Alcaraz and Sinner now , it's like Nadal he had to retire because of injuries or Federer because of declining. Novak to still be at the top of his game or near it for a 38 year old is amazing , name another 30 + sportsman who can do that , there ain't many. RE: French Open - Snooks - 08-06-2025 12:35 Got me thinking as a fan of numerous sports. Thought of a list of names and found some of them were under 30 but equally found some 30 or over still doing their stuff pretty well ![]() The list isn't exactly huge but there are still some relative oldies if you can call 30+ old. I feel ancient compared to most of this lot ![]() Cricket: Joe Root (34) Pat Cummins (32) Virat Kohli (36) Kane Williamson (34) Jos Buttler (34) Steve Smith (36) Football Mohammed Salah (32) Harry Kane (31) Allison Becker (32) Robert Lewandowski (36) Virgil van Dijk (33) Thomas Muller (35) Athletics Fred Kerley (30) Nafissatou Thiam (30) Ryan Crouser (32) Faith Kipyegon (31) Matthew Hudson-Smith (30) Gianmarco Tamberi (33) Golf Rory McIlroy (36) Hideki Matsuyama (33) Shane Lowry (38) Justin Rose (39) Bryson DeChambeau (31) Jon Rahm (30) Snooker Mark Williams (50) John Higgins (50) Ronnie O'Sullivan (49) Mark Selby (41) Judd Trump (35) Ding Junhui (38) Rugby Union Beauden Barrett (34) Maro Itoje (30) Cheslin Kolbe (31) Finn Russell (32) Will Skelton (33) Handre Pollard (31) Boxing Oleksandr Usyk (38) Mario Barrios (30) Gervonta Davis (30) Claressa Shields (30) Joseph Parker (33) Dmitry Bivol (34) RE: French Open - Doddle - 08-06-2025 13:28 Your statistics show which sport you can still fit in with, and you're already ready to fit in there. RE: French Open - Snooks - 08-06-2025 19:50 Carlos Alcaraz has sensationally won a match for the ages in recovering from two sets down to beat Jannik Sinner 4-6 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (10-2) to defend the men's singles title. Quite possibly the most mind bogglingist piece of mind bogglingness I have witnessed on a tennis court in a long, long time. So many twists and turns. Incredible. ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: French Open - Doddle - 08-06-2025 21:11 Well done them both really ![]() |
