RE: Babestation XTREME discussion - bongo3 - 08-02-2011 00:43 I get a tad pissed off with the BSX knockers on here. Don't get me wrong, along with everyone else, I'd like it to be a bit more explicit, but it's still better than anything else currently on offer. The problem isn't BSX, it's Ofcom. If you read the Ofcom code, you'll see what the problem is, and it's simple - kind of. No broadcaster is allowed to broadcast R-18 material, end of; there are no qualifications to that rule at all. To be fair to BSX, they pushed the limits and we have to assume that they have had a slapped wrist and been told to cut certain things out. You can't blame them for wanting to hold on to their broadcasting license. One of Ofcom's guiding principles appears to be that programme content can be justified by context and that a significant factor in assessing "context" is the expectations of the viewing audience. given that the viewing audience for BSX consists of adults who have chosen to spend £5 in the hope/expectation of seeing some explicit female nudity and a modicum of sexual activity, then my own view is that the line on what is permitted to be broadcast should be drawn a bit higher than it currently is. I don't find anything offensive in viewing consenting, non-violent sex and neither, in my experience, do the vast majority of men and a good many women; I think it's completely normal to turn occasionally to visual material for sexual arousal (a large percentage of perfectly "normal" people do, for heaven's sake!) and the more explicit such material is, the more arousing it tends to be. Unfortunately, the lack of really clear definition about what does and doesn't comprise R-18 material means that BSX tread a line between trying to give the viewers what they want (and what sells) and what they think Ofcom will crucify them for - and this means that we get too many "tease" type shots and, at times, inappropriately heavy censorship, which inevitably frustrates the punters - me included. It seems to me that the only way things will change is if Ofcom draw up a more specific code - one that rather than simply banning anything that would not be shown in a cinema on an 18 certificate, allows some of the more "mainstream" things that are currently only included in R18 films - for example, aroused female genitalia, oral-genital contact and non-violent dildo penetration, none of which are "extreme" and which I don't think would offend any of the people seeking this kind of entertainment. We should lobby Ofcom - any volunteers? RE: Babestation XTREME discussion - Scottishbloke - 10-02-2011 00:05 Please tell me why this channel is not available on SKY and only freeview. I do not have freeview but would be willing to fork out the money required to watch it if it was also available on SKY. RE: Babestation XTREME discussion - dirk362 - 12-02-2011 20:52 I've a question on how "live" the live shows are. I ask in that with last nights first show with Jess and Megan, at 3mins 29seconds it has a cut in it - a blatant stop of one part of scene into another bit (yes it's in the same scene, but the girls have moved significantly and also the audio a cut there as well). There was a broadcast sequence error in the transport stream (TS) just before this at 3mins 28seconds so could have a bearing, but usually that just means a couple of out-of-sequence TS packets and they last for 1/25th of a second as they affect at most a single frame (realistically they last for 1/50th as this is interlaced material). I'm just wondering given the way the output has changed, how they now perform fades between pieces where if the camera stayed where it was they'd be showing too much etc. Perhaps I'm just a conspiracy freak, but it does look to me like these live shows are not in fact aired live but rather recorded live then edited together and shown as live shows... Thoughts ? RE: Babestation XTREME discussion - m100 - 12-02-2011 22:39 (12-02-2011 20:52 )dirk362 Wrote: I've a question on how "live" the live shows are. They used to be live but whatever they say the shows are now recorded and edited to avoid shots of penetration and, babestation - if you do drag yourself to this thread, any other claim is total bollocks. Yes it is quite obvious that they are recorded,if you were to look closely you might see that the shots jump from one camera to another and sometimes the babes on screen are in a different position etc. The fact that the BABESTATION character doesn`t show his stuff very often suggests that he is another RCTV who claims to be something he/she is not. RE: Babestation XTREME discussion - fullbunger - 13-02-2011 23:15 I must say for that you guys protest about how rubbish BSX is, how it is such a waste you all seem to have a remarkable grasp on its intricacies, I mean analysis of transport packets, analysis of shots and angles, its not normal. Come on guys, you're making trainspotting look like a thrill a minute. It ain't porn, it ain't ever gonner be porn, the girls are great to look at, but you know what you ain't gonner see before you pay for it, so why are you still paying for it, much less getting upset about it, unless of course you have found a way to get BSX for free ????? Yes, in the autumn it was great, but hey did you really think it was ever going to last once the regulators started looking at it. Jeez, give it a rest for a while, don't watch, and then they will have only two choices, make it worth watching or stop broadcasting. |
