http://mmaweekly.com/mma-top-10-rankings-frank-mir-making-a-move
- Frank Mir's on the rise.
- How is Lyoto Machida below Rampage.
- Why do I not remember Alexander Gustafsson 12-1 (4-1 UFC).
- When is Gegard Mousasi 31-3-2 gonna step into the UFC.
- Michael Bisping's 5th that should mean it's Yushin Okami or Chael Sonnen Then Anderson Silva.
- Nick Diaz v Josh Koscheck has got to happen.
- Jon Fitch please!!! Big Laugh

RE: UFC - groundnpound - 15-12-2011 12:53

It could be a year or two before GSP gets the chance to beat up Diaz. Wink I reckon Diaz is gonna do the business against Condit in February, making him the interim champ. Then he'll fight Koscheck and for me there's only one winner there and he's not from Stockton, California! GSP will return to win another one sided fight against Koscheck, in the mean time i think Diaz will be preparing for a title eliminator against lets say a.... Thiago Alves, Martin Kampmann, Brian Ebersole or in the worst case Jon Fitch! Maybe, if he beats one of those lads, he'll finally get the beating of all time from the great man Big Grin

John "Rather watch paint dry" Fitch at number 2 Welterweight....That must be a mistake Rolleyes

Big Nog thought he avoided surgery on the arm broken by Frank Mir but in the end he's had to have surgery. Big Nog will be out for six months.

RE: UFC - HEX!T - 19-12-2011 18:57

i think mire broke his arm on purpose to send a message to all the heavyweights. he is prepared to damage them permanently to get his hands on that belt...
nog had already taped and you can see mir felt it and decided to apply more pressure. he didnt need to break his arm as the match was over. he just did it to make a point in my opinion.
it was brutal and he should be reminded its a competitive sport not a gladiators arena.

RE: UFC - groundnpound - 20-12-2011 15:35

I think he sensed he could snap Nogs arm when he got a proper grip of it. There's no love lost between those two. Mir got the word in after the fight that he was the first to ko Big Nog and the first to Submit him aswell Rolleyes Mir's decent but he's not top 5 for me.

Big Nogs X ray Shy

RE: UFC - 199lives - 20-12-2011 17:30

I don't think Mir did anything wrong. He had the sub locked in and gave Nog the chance to tap, he didn't so Mir kept cranking like he should. They both knew the situation and unfortunately it ended with Nog getting his arm broken and the fight was then stopped after the break.

Herb Deans take on it.

“In my mind, I was hoping that he would tap,” Dean told the Sherdog Radio Network’s “It’s Time!” show with Bruce Buffer. “Like, ‘Please, please make this easy for me. That looks like it’s on.’ I definitely [had a] heightened awareness at that time. I was really focused on that arm. But that’s how Antonio became who he is -- he didn’t get there by giving up. That guy’s done things that everyone thought was impossible time and time again because he never gives up.”

Technically Nogueira did tap, but that was after his humerus had already snapped.

“I stopped it because I saw the arm break,” Dean said. “The tap came after. I don’t stop it when I believe it’s locked on or even if I believe the guy’s in jeopardy because I don’t know what that person can take. I don’t know what their limits are, but if I see an injury that is too dangerous for the fight to continue, that’s when I’m going to stop the fight. Or if I see the fighter tap.”
