Publicity certainly seems to be pointing that way RolleyesSad

RE: Dr Who - HannahsPet - 16-07-2017 07:45

to be honest dont mind if its a woman as long as its a good actress who brings something different to the role

mind you i dont think anthing can save it now its come to its shelf life like every good drama's maybe needs a extended break

i will prob lynched for saying that

BBC only really keep it on for the merchandising and they couldnt afford to lose its 2nd jewel in its crown after top gear fiasco

The men's final at Wimbledon starts at 2pm so will be around teatime (5-6pm) when the Doctor is revealed

Mr Chibnall please ignore everything in this obnoxious piece by the Telegraph for starters: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/2017/07/02/doctor-10-tips-new-showrunner-chris-chibnall/

Check out a Mr Evans on the article's comments section for why this piece is so wrong-headed it's untrue.

Also, is the only press knowledge of the show prior to 2005 of its monsters?! !bladewave!

An alternative wishlist:

Just please return the show nearer to the imaginative, innovative, storytelling of the best of its previous eras. Strangely it was largely liner in its narrative and family friendly as a result. It could do social commentary and humour if needed, but didn't require application of it with a trowel.

Be respectful of the show's past, not a plunderer or balderiser of it. Be fresh in new monsters and adversaries not regurgitative like Mr M.

Show, dont tell.

Have 'arc' where it is needed and not because it has somehow become 'a must'. Bold is good, throwing the baby out with the bathwater is not.

Don't create story points just for the sake of being "cool". In fact don't do anything for that reason.

Give death back its proper meaning - it is the necessary backstop of any drama. If no death is final why should we care for what happens to those close to the Doctor?

Above all be wonderous, explorative and scary in your plotting. Inspire and trouble the dreams of children, they will love you for it. Trick any that try to censor that.

...Oh, and ignore all social media reaction to the show. It is the spawn of the devil. :)
