RE: Fascinating Facts and Trivia - GMach1 - 04-07-2019 18:43 Did that STING? Sea otters hold hands when they sleep so they don’t drift away from each other. This is a method mostly used by a mother and her pup to prevent them from separating. Other than holding hands, they may also wrap themselves in kelp to keep from drifting away! RE: Fascinating Facts and Trivia - GMach1 - 04-07-2019 18:53 Here's an interesting fact on US Independence Day. Did you know that because they don't have an allegiance to any Queen or royal family(although they revere ours) the US revere their flag and NOTHING is allowed to sully its good emblem, not even making a bikini out of it because it is deemed that sitting on a representation of the Stars and Stripes is defacing its name. If a flag becomes defaced or worn or torn it is burnt and you wouldn't believe the amount of flags burnt is quite a lot. RE: Fascinating Facts and Trivia - GMach1 - 04-07-2019 20:21 We should all remember the day when a rather sombre-looking Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis(phwoar! I had such a crush on that girl once) gave us the news that the Italian sunken garden beautifully made by the late Percy Thrower had been vandalised during a night. Many years later one of the culprits owned up to being part of that vandalism-the heartless swine-his name...ex Man Utd footballer, RIO FERDINAND! Zzz or zzzz is used in writing to represent the act of sleeping. It is used because human snoring often sounds like the pronunciation of the letter. Z looks like (also sounds like) electrical wave, and people send out brain waves when they are sleeping. So beloved of mrmann RE: Fascinating Facts and Trivia - Carl-Gen X - 05-07-2019 13:00 A 2003 heatwave turned grapes to raisins before they were picked from the vine. RE: Fascinating Facts and Trivia - Carl-Gen X - 05-07-2019 13:02 In 1972, a blizzard dumped 8m (24 feet) of snow on Iran, burying 200 villages in the process. RE: Fascinating Facts and Trivia - GMach1 - 05-07-2019 20:18 A small child could swim through the veins of a blue whale. If you consider how large a blue whale’s heart is the size of a small car, it’s no surprise that a small child, around 3-4 years old, could swim through the massive veins of a blue whale. |
