I'm fine with the new Doctor being female. Nice new twist on things

RE: Dr Who - HannahsPet - 16-07-2017 15:32

Least shes a fucking northerner Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue

RE: Dr Who - ShandyHand - 16-07-2017 15:44

^ Lol.

I just hope she proves there were other reasons for choosing her.

The writing better be fucking good now or guess who's gonna get the blame?! Important

RE: Dr Who - HannahsPet - 16-07-2017 15:51

She is a good actress. isnt the creator of Broadchurch taking over from moffatt so that explains her casting it will be all in the writing and seeing Chibnall was writer on torchwood could be good

What's all the excitment about a female doctor.

I've had a female doctor for years..

Yep, so they have. And let me be the first to put my hands up and say that, as a fan of the brand, I shall not be watching Doctor Who whilst she - or any other woman after her - is in the role.

The show was the one mainstream show on TV that I tried to make a point of watching. Not anymore. There was no need to make the Doctor a woman - heck, there was no need to make the Master a woman, but I kept watching in the hope that the makers of the show would not lose their minds completely - but, alas, they have.

Might as well have this here too: https://youtu.be/_-_bSdWEYK8

Execs on her casting and Whittaker's first comments: http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2017/jodie-whittaker-13-doctor

The only way it will work is if they stop making reference to the Doctor being female and play the role - it may help that a new assistant will be coming too.
