Mr Mystery makes a good point about the Asian Babes finding. How Ofcom got away with finding against a channel for something that was not even against the rules is a mystery. It should have been a scandal, instead they got away with an arbitrary extension of power.

Perhaps the Egyption Generals would be more impartial?

What should worry the press is the same arbitrary exercise of ill defined rules. Levenson is running an enquiry that could result in enforceable rules setting up a body controlling what papers are allowed to publish. Bit of a similarity there.

Opposition to Nazi Germany was of course totally different, so far as I know Ofcom have no plans for military invasion, but standing up to Ofcom does take moral courage. Unlike other regulators Ofcom does seem to dislike it if its decisions are challenged. Could you imagine a Judge throwing a hissy fit because a barrister sought a High Court ruling about a decision made by the Judge, say admissability of evidence? And dont forget that opposition to the Nazis was because they were expansionist bullys, not because of opposition to geonocide - that was unknown until the camps were liberated.

When I made a comparision between this country fighting nazi Germany and ofcom the meaning wasn't supposed to be taken literally, it was the spirit of the never say die attitude I was getting at, ofcourse nobody can really put Hitler and Ed Richards of ofcom in the same bracket, I mean for a start Ed Richards doesn't even have a comedy mustache laugh but I think most people got my meaning without it ever being taken in a literal fashion Wink all my point has ever been on this forum is to see just a bit of fight, not enough to take ofcom down but it would send out a warning shot to them that their days of dictating could be made to be very akward for them if they persist with this persecution of the late night adult channels which at the end of the day are supposed to me no more than just a bit of light hearted fun Rolleyes Well at least I'm saving money on kleenex these days all thanks to ofcom Big Laugh

if the channels are to shut up and pay up when ever ofcom decide it needs to boost its christmas kitty even if the reason for the fine is not legit or breaking the rules then they deserve it,they must be the only yellow backed people in the country who will pay a fine without contesting it, even though they know they have done nothing wrong !to much cleavage of a daytime , how often do we see tits roaming round the house of commons day after day Big Grin

fifty shades of grey , dubbed mommy porn as its fans are 30 summat fema[/font]les has took the bookstores by storm , titilation yes , graphic yes , wonder if ofcom will have a say about it , no classification so a child could read it, no bearings on our plight here but it just goes to show the double standards in this country

Does anyone know the full list of rules and guidelines that are implemented by Ofcom on the Babe channels?

Because the only rules I know are you can't go topless until after 10:00pm, you can't go nude until 11:00pm and there is restrictions on the amount of interaction between babes. I'm just wondering if there is any other rules I should know about

Also when is this change in leadership at Ofcom supposed to happen?

There is a bloke who works for ofcom who has to watch the babe channels for 25 hours a day. Let's feel sorry for the poor man. Just for doing his job properly he must have the sore bellend from hell.

Supposed to be filthy. Too flithy for my paper to even hint at the sex acts described. Available in all good supermarkets, at not even on the top shelf now it is dropping down the charts.

Sorry if my reply sounded a bit heavy, dont think anyone took your comment as a serious comparison. Looks may be deceptive but with very few exceptions the channels dont seem to stand up for themselves. Im certainly not in this because I think channel owners are an oppressed minority, though I do sometimes feel sorry for the babes* when they get fined or suspended. To be honest I suspect I would cross the road to avoid some of the operators. There is an issue about arbitrary control, but like many freedom issues there is an overlap with selfinterest, and at the end of a long day with a cold empty bed to look forward to a bit of erotic entertainment would be nice.

* New motto: Adopt a babe today. A dry home and some warm clothing would make all the difference.
