I find it shocking that there was a organisation called the Pedophile Information Exchange allowed to exist in the 1970's and 80's in the UK. Times have certainly changed!

Budget opinions anyone?

In an age where the budget is usually acurately predicted. I think that he has managed to pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat.

Raising the tax tress hold was expected. But letting everyone take the responsibility for their own pension and having ISA to the yearly value of 15k was a pleasant surprise.

With the elections being next year, it was always going to be a give away budget

usual fare about bribing the pensioners with stuff and childcare for the breeders

that alan turing institute sounds a good idea but you can bet it will be down south not up in the north even though turing did most of his work at manchester uni

Nice to see Bingo getting a bit of help at last Tongue Are they trying to kill off both the Health & National Lotteries in one go? When one (Health) was set up by this Government and the other (National) was set up by the Major administration?
"We want to make Bingo more popular" yeah right!! & I doubt if even 1p off a pint is going to do much to slow down the rate of pubs closing either.

(Reuters) - A massive magnitude 8.0 earthquake on Tuesday off the coast of Chile, near the mining port of Iquique, sparked a tsunami warning for all of Latin America's Pacific coast, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.

"An earthquake of this size has the potential to generate a destructive tsunami that can strike coastlines near the epicentre within minutes and more distant coastlines within hours," it said.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was very shallow, only 6.2 miles (10 km) below the seabed. It was cantered 53 miles (86 km) northwest of Iquique, Chile's main mining export port.
