Some old news....

Labour leader John Smith faces a challenge from within his own party, after Jeremy Corbyn accused the Labour leadership of offering no real opposition to the government.

(Press Association, 21 September 1992).

Now Corbyn Threatening Re Selection of MP's makes a Split even more likely

It's fun to wonder how he can be both a useless twit who supposedly couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery, and yet also the domineering tyrant who can somehow threaten hellfire and brimstone on his opponents.

^ That will be McDonnell & Milne behind him who organise the brick throwers and death threat brigade then deny all knowledge of them

It's not that he's doing the threatening, it's that he's doing bugger-all to prevent it.

Surely if reselection occurs a split is inevitable? Corbyn says that MPs who don't back him will be reselected before the next election, therefore meaning that before the next election comes there could be many MPs sitting in Parliament who are no longer representing Labour.

RE: Labour Leadership Contest - HannahsPet - 22-07-2016 10:33

Yeah but the thing is that if MP's Leave there doesnt have to be a by election so bascially labour under corbyn could go from 230+ mp's to maybe 50 or less and any new party would get the short money which is 16k an mp . Corbyn would also lose leader of the oppostion money some 700k a year to run the office. not to mention labour donors who i suspect would leave the party in droves and guessing many unions would follow as well as half the NEC

its the Nuclear option but it seems its the only way out

If the party splits then Corbyn's Labour will end up with less MPs than the SNP have got (which is 54).

RE: Labour Leadership Contest - Censorship :-( - 22-07-2016 12:32

^ He already has fewer MPs (in terms of those who actually support him, that is - no confidence vote: 172-40 in favour)! Rolleyes

Is there evidence to back up this potentially libellous assertion? Surprised
