A magisterial, empathetic and statesmanlike performance from the Prime Minister, supported by an authoritative exposition of the epidemiology by Sir Patrick Vallance, the chief scientific officer. The Chief Medical Officer now giving more practical details from a medical perspective. All three refreshingly unpatronising.
