This argument always comes up (didn't Ding's final come when he came through qualifying?). Makes you wonder why it doesn't work more often, if true.

Jak made a great clearance in the 4th to get on the scoresheet at last. Hopefully he'll be settled.

The second semi final has proven equally as compelling as the first in different ways.
Bingham and Jones locked at 4-4.
The Essex man zoomed into a 3-0 lead and looked set for 4-0 but a missed blue turned the tide. The Welshman clawed his way back into it and slowly got his cue arm going. Bingham started making errors and all of a sudden it was 3-3. Jones had a chance for 4-3 but this time it was his turn to miss a key blue and Bingham stepped in to clear.
But Jones scrapped his way to winning the final frame of the day and level things up going into the second session tomorrow afternoon. The early exchanges of both semi finals have proven very interesting.

think it'll be good to see Jones make the final against Wilson

At least it is a all british final

Exceptional semi final from Kyren Wilson and David Gilbert.
The standard has been really excellent.
Locked at 8-8 after the second session in a fantastic match that has ebbed and flowed beautifully with lots of quality breaks.

Pleased that Dave is hanging in there, he must know he's not expected to win, but maybe he can get revenge for that German Masters win that Kyren got over him.

Also pleased that Jak got on level terms, the gulf between them is wider, and he can't really psyche Bingham out.

Jak Jones and Stuart Bingham are engaged in a right old ding dong battle in the second semi final.
Bingham went 6-4 ahead then 7-6 behind before levelling the scores.
Jones clinically moved in for 8-7.
Crucial last frame of the day then.
Jones gives away endless points away in fouls.
Despite a noble effort to get back in the frame it proves costly.
8-8 overnight.

Am I right in thinking that whatever pairing making it rthrough it witll be a first Final for both finalists?

RE: World Snooker Championship 2024 - Snooks - 03-05-2024 18:55

No.
Kyren Wilson is a former finalist.
Stuart Bingham is a former champion.

Kyren seems to have moved up a gear tonight.
