I feel the same, but I am beginning to think the whole political structure has been in the dodrums for a very long time. Are we about to witness it's meltdown?

The last time I got paid by cheque for a job was like 20+ years ago!!

I suppose the guy he punched was not a working man as Labour have said they won't hit the working man

He was an employer with a bit of savings and a few shares so was fair game for a thumping.

That's got me thinking - I wonder how many will try and move ther pension pots overseas to stop Reeves raiding them?

^I don’t think anyone seriously takes the reference for a cheque literally, do they? I’ve been paid by transfer since 1981 - never had a cheque for my salary in my life - but I still say ‘when I get my pay cheque’ meaning ‘pay day’ - even though I’m self-employed now.

When were cheques phased out?

As far as I'm concerned my definition of a "working person" (if it's going to help Keir Starmer's government to get the correctv definition) is:
"A person between the ages of 16 and to elderly status (until they retire) - who is employed in some capacity by a company or self employment, who is paid for hours worked in employment."

To me that's it in a nutshell.

To be fair, my bank account has a cheque book that comes with it. However, it must be around about 20 years since I actually needed to use it to transfer money out of my account.

They haven’t been.

I thought they had been I've not had one from the Halifax for years!! My understanding was they charge 50p for processing cheques (or does that hsve to be a specific amount that incurs a charge) don't they? or they said processsing cheques is not worth the cost, one or the two.
