RE: Dr Who - Regenerated - 10-11-2017 00:32 Oh dear... not a very encouraging first glimpse of her costume. I will watch it, I will give it a go and we'll see what happens. I said that a female doctor might shake the show up. I'm worried now, really worried, about there being too much shaking. I'll watch with a lot of apprehension I'm afraid because first impressions of the new era are not exactly positive. They definitely need to tweak that outfit - Christ, it's hideous... RE: Dr Who - The Silent Majority - 10-11-2017 07:35 I wasn't expecting Clara type outfits but ffs, all she needs is a red nose and clown make-up I think they're in danger of making the same mistake they made with Class, Too many central characters all vying to stand out and none of them really succeeding. I also worry that changing every single character at the same time ruins the continuity of the show. They should've kept Bill, or even Nardole, on for this series to provide a proper link between the old Doctor and the new. Especially since this regeneration is so different. RE: Dr Who - ShandyHand - 10-11-2017 07:50 ^ Lucas has hinted he may not be done with the show completely: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2017-10-19/matt-lucas-hints-that-his-time-on-doctor-who-may-not-be-over/ RE: Dr Who - ShandyHand - 12-11-2017 18:28 Bradley Walsh - who didn't have to audition for his role after Chibnall handpicked him apparently - has stated that filming on season 11 starts next week: http://metro.co.uk/2017/11/12/bradley-walsh-confirms-new-doctor-who-will-begin-filming-next-week-7072726/ The usual Xmas Special clip will feature on Children in Need this coming Friday (between 7 and 10pm). RE: Dr Who - ShandyHand - 06-12-2017 18:27 Series 11 is being shot with a new lens and camera combos to give the show a more cinematic filmic look apprently: https://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/tech/lens-change-to-make-doctor-who-more-filmic/5124650.article. (It's also worth bearing in mind that the budget has to stretch to roughly half an hours less footage over a couple of less stories this season so more money should evident in each episode's representation onscreen.) This will no doubt encourage more cinema screenings of Who around the world, if Whittaker proves a success, as these seem to be both good publicity, and a nice little return on investment for Worldwide. Meanwhile, after the Christmas and New Year break (Walsh is in panto in Brum and London) series filming will get away from the normally mundane Cardiff student accommodation blocks, railway and police stations (Wales doubling for Yorkshire: http://www.jomec.co.uk/intercardiff/doctor-who-filming-in-cardiff-jodie-whittaker-does-her-own-stunts ) for the more rarified air of South Africa. Rumour has it that episodes 1 and 7 will be in the can by then. |
