Better luck for the lads, though, and some of the doubles teams.

So this will be the last time we see Sir Andy Murray at Wimbledon?

The two singles lads lost their semi-finals, but Skupski the doubles whizz co-won the Mens Doubles Important

GB off to a winning start in the Davis Cup. They've defeated Finland 2-1. Dan Evans and Billy Harris won their singles matches, Neal Skupski and Evans lost the doubles match.

The event is in Manchester. I don't like the new format of the competition with one host nation and countries playing matches against each other in a group. I used to really like the home and away travelling format - the team ethic was higher and the challenges to overcome (different surfaces, crowd involvement, travel to different places, five set matches) made for a more satisfying competition.

But that's the way it is now. It's a shame and I often don't even know when the event is on, such has become the lower profile of the competition in my opinion. With home and away and more knockout style matches the schedule seemed to fit nicely in to the ATP season.

Oh well. Sad

Some positive news for British women's tennis.
Sonay Kartal has reached her first WTA tour semi final after beating Ukraine's Yuliia Starodubtseva 7-6 (7-4) 6-2 at the Jasmin Open in Tunisia. Well done to her.
