On August 15, 1977, we received a radio signal from space which lasted for 72 seconds.

To this day the origins of that signal are unknown.

Old people can't hear or feel their own farts

Humans are deuterostomes, which means that when they develop in the womb, the anus forms before any other opening. Which means basically at one point you were nothing but an arsehole.

Some people never develop beyond this stage....

If you point your car keys to your head, it increases the remote's signal range. This works by using your brain to act as a radio transmitter.

The only letter that doesn't appear in The Periodic Table is 'J'. In some countries - (Norway, Poland, Sweden, Serbia and Croatia) - The element Iodine is known by the name 'Jod', however, The Periodic Table still uses The IUPAC symbol I for that element.

A bit of maths trivia here:

Multiplying ones always gives you 'Palindromic Numbers', for example:
If you multiply 111,111,111 x 111,111,111 you get 12,345,678,987,654,321 - a Palindrome Number that reads the same forwards or backwards. And that works all the way back down to 11 x 11 (121) or just 1 x 1 (1).

A bit of Game Of Thrones Trivia:

Both Emilia Clarke and Lena Heady have played The Terminator's Sarah Connor. Clarke starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator Genisys, playing the role of Sarah Connor. The part was previously played by Cersei Lannister, herself, Lena Heady, in the short lived tv series, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.... A very much underrated show and I would've liked to have seen another season to properly end the story but alas it was cancelled. I also liked Summer Glau's portrayal of The TOK715 Terminator 'Cameron' in this series. Smile

"Almost" is the longest word in the English language with all the letters in alphabetical order - "Rhythm" is the longest word in the English language with no vowels, also you can add an 'S' in the plural to make Rhythm a seven letter word without a vowel.

A raisin dropped in a glass of fresh champagne will bounce up and down continuously from the bottom of the glass to the top.

No piece of square paper can be folded more than 7 times in half.

It's impossible to hum while holding your nose, normally when you hum, the air is able to escape through your nose to create the sound, and of course, it can't do that when your holding it shut.

"Albert Einstein" is an anagram for "ten elite brains".

Music facts/trivia:

Sepultura chose their name after listening to the Motorhead track "Dancing on Your Grave", after translating it's lyrics to Portuguese they decided that "Grave", or "Sepultura" had a nice ring to it.

A 43-year gap seperates Black Sabbath's two visits to No.1 on the UK charts - First with 1970's 'Paranoid' and second with 2013's '13', breaking Bob Dylan's record of 39 years.

Thanks to all of you keeping this going. I will try to resume adding to it. Sorry I was away for so long but had an eye problem that needed looking at(as it were) and it turned out to be just a bloody nuisance and nothing to worry about. Smile

Get yer head around these amazing facts!
Flies jump backwards during takeoff.

A housefly will regurgitate its food and eat it again.

Termites outweigh humans by almost ten to one.

A spider's web is not a home, but rather a trap for its food. They are as individual as snowflakes, with no two ever being the same. Some tropical spiders have built webs over eighteen feet across.

More people are afraid of spiders than death. Amazingly, few people are afraid of Champagne corks even though you are more likely to be killed by one than by a spider.

Your brain consumes 25 watts of power while you’re awake. This amount of energy is enough to illuminate a lightbulb.

It is impossible to lick your elbow.

Intelligent people have more zinc and copper in their hair.

Pteronophobia is the fear of being tickled by feathers. It is also a fear of feathers themselves.

If Pinocchio says “my nose will grow now”, it would cause a paradox.

This is known as Pinocchio’s paradox.

If you think about it, Pinocchio’s nose would have to grow to make his statement not a lie, but then it can’t grow otherwise the statement would not be a lie.
