Especially having seen his movie equivalent who is miles better in the role they need to lighten this up. Even in the comics The Flash is a happy go lucky character. In the comics that’s not strictly true, first it depends on which version of The Flash, then which era of the Barry Allen character 70’s, 80’s or 2000 when he came during Flash Rebirth. The Barry Allen of DC 52 and DC Rebirth is lot more conflicted as character especially after the negative flash storyline plus it depends on what writer is writing the comics plus there was the future flash/Barry Allen story where he was darker in character. The movie version of Barry Allen all tho different isn’t Barry Allen his never been a comedic character if anything he acts more like the early version of Wally West in the comics, that’s why you notice the movie version has more common with Wally West Flash in the Justice League/Justice League Unlimited animated series later on the comics Wally West matured and became more serious. All tho I don’t totally agree some of the DC Comics people that worked on The Flash didn’t like the Barry Allem movie version because never acted like the comic Barry Allen. Read issues 1-80 of the Wally West and you’ll notice his more like the movie version of The Flash who is Barry Allen the only thing that’s the same is his a nerd. Even in the comics The Flash is a happy go lucky character. imo it's in 4th place in the arrowverse behind arrow, supergirl and l.o.t. shame as it used to be the best. it's just the storyline atm but that can improve very quickly. it's nothing terminal. RE: The Flash - bigguy01 - 24-02-2018 19:03 sounds like a couple of episodes of smallville where clark kent's powers were transferred to others. on the subject of dceu flash v cw flash, grant gustin is better flash than ezra miller. the dceu flash was too goofy and not as intelligent as the character should be also the running style was annoying. the one thing would i like to see in the flash is that for one season have a non meta villain that is pulling strings and every case they solve brings them closer to the real villain which would show barr allen's skills as a csi also utilises other character's skills and intelligence. |
