WTF happened there then???? This is what happened, England have been shown up and found out as the overrated, overpaid, uncaring, donkeys that these players are. Sadannoyed

Never mind about the disallowed goal, it doesn't matter. Our performance was abject, our defence was a joke, they have no pride, no passion, no heart. SadSadSad

They are not good enough and this result proves it. England have been crap overall since they arrived in South Africa, the warm up games before were turgid aswell. SadSadSad I feel sorry for Gerrard, he gave everything. But one man doesn't make a team. Too many players not performing. It looks even bleaker because its a struggle to see any good talent coming through from the next younger generation. Oh and as for the manager, Capello's crap! Goodbye golden generation, thanks for nothing. annoyedSadSadSad

now where did I put that six feet long length of rope..... SadSadSadSadSadSadSadSad

Most of the older players will probably retire from international football now, after being shown up by a much younger side. And they won't get any better in 4 years time, so it's left to the younger generation to come through, and that's what worries me - what would we have left? It may be quite a few years before we have a team that can 'challenge' (If you believed this year's hype) for a major tournament.

I personally wouldnt use anyone from a top 4 side. but all this crap about getting someone english like big sam is rubbish as this is the big sam who always bought in overseas players at both bolton and blackburn in fact he had a up and coming england striker in Matt derbyshire and got rid of him because he wasnt a hold up player. he also couldnt get the prima dna at newcastle to gel so will have no chance with this lot. martin oneil would be a good choice as he has built up a mainly english side at villa but would he wanna manage england

The English Premier League is the best in the world!

New manager needed Capello refusing to change formation & questionable substitutions no no Fab!

i'm not the biggest football fan, but even i know if you've got a manager that can't speak the same language as the players your gonna struggle, why don't they give stuart pearce the job he was there as part of the coaching team anyway, at least he's english and has some pride in the game, gotta be questioning the ponsy tossers at the FA that chose capello in the first place

Well i said it from the start i didn't Like Fabio tactics and today was proved right yet again how the hell can you play Stevie G on the left is beyond me.

Then why the hell take Defoe off when we are desperate for goals and bring Heskey on of all players is just laughable. All this i just play the players that are fully fit and been playing well through out the season was a pile of shite.

How anyone can say Fabio still the man for the job is garbage

I agree the players are to blame as well but when Fabio is playing the wrong players in the positions and wrong tactics then what can they do

The only man for the job is Jose Morinho if we are to stand any chance of winning the Euro s

Now I'm not a football fan. But I watched it. Aren't those players in red tops meant to kick the ball to other ones in red tops, not to the ones in white or nobody?

I also said from an early time that I didn't agree with Capello as manager, I didn't like his tactics, squad selection or team selection. I can't be bothered to type it all again as I said what I thought should be the selection and spoke about the players seeming lost earlier in the thread. Lets be honest, we've not deserved anything all the way through, in at least three of the four games it was a disgraceful shambles.

Maybe I was hard on the players. But they still have to take some responsibility for having very little positive attitude and desire on the field.

Hard to see where the next generation of players is coming from. As Quetzalcoatl said, it may be some time until there is another squad ready to perform in a major tournament.

Remains to be seen how many of this current squad will still be around for the Euro 2012, never mind the next World Cup in 2014. The likes of Lampard, Gerrard, Terry, Joe Cole, Ledley King, Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole, Gareth Barry will all be well into their 30s by 2014.

And everything that Capello has talked about in terms of selecting players who are fit only and playing regularly is total garbage. I can't understand hardly anything he says in his press conferences, so god knows how the players cope with his team talks.

I'd like to see Stuart Pearce as manager, or maybe even Alan Shearer. An English coach who understands English culture, and time to start now in getting the next, younger generation ready to fill the squad.

Some more passion, some more desire, and maybe, just maybe, we'll have a chance in a tournament in the future. Right now, it just looks bleak..... very bleak indeed. SadSadSad

well as an irish man, cant really brag about being good at football, but that said, gotta love when england loose. you as a nation just put to much into silly things like this, like to see yourselves the top of everything, and you just nor, like most other countries.

time to take a step back and enjoy being there win or not
