Do really think that could happen? Last season Celtic won the SPL, although not that good of a team seem to be miles ahead of other teams. I do hope though that teams like Dundee United or Motherwell start winning some leagues or at least put up a better challenge, it would be good for the SPL and maybe people might turn up more often at matches, as they may feel the league is showing of teams being more competitive RE: Scottish Football - Scottishbloke - 25-06-2012 19:38 Like I said the old firm have created unfair competition, it's high time for change, Celtic without Rangers by their side anymore will no longer be able or allowed to throw their weight around anymore. Rangers are now getting kicked to fuck all over the place and it's well overdue in my opinion I've been through to Ibrox far too many times and seen my team cheated in Glasgow. Vladimir Romanov was spot on when he said that corruption and bribery has been used by the big 2 for too many years. The league Cup Final between Rangers and Dundee United which my United team lost on penalites will forever stick in my mind when we had the ref against us from the word go. We were the better team but never got a single decision our way. I can accept seeing my team lose but not when it's been achieved through corruption and cheating. Scottish football time to wipe the slate clean and I'm also delighted that I'm no longer going to have to be subjected to the bigority which the Rangers support has brought to my ground and shamed the entire game of Scottish football for years. No more sash and no more songs of the orange order either. Dundee United are a family club as are most of the SPL clubs and it's great that the next generation of fans won't have to be subjected to the level of hatred and politics that brings about it by a visit from Rangers. I say kick the bastards out of game for good, start afresh. Remarket the game and make the nation once more proud again. Rangers fans Manchester 2008, embarrassing and it made me ashamed to be associated with Scottish football that day. They have been a disease on the whole of Scotland for so many years. Just to point out when my Dundee United team got to the final of the UEFA Cup final in 1987 the club were awarded a special prize from UEFA for fair play and showing good sportsmanship throughout the magnificant run. So good were the supporters that we actually applauded the opposition IFK Gothenburg who defeated us at Tannadice that night, nonetheless the fans were gracious in defeat. That's what makes me proud to support a club such as Dundee United they are club that demonstrates just what is good about the game up here. Well behaved supporters and great ambassadors for Scotland. SPL without Rangers = bliss, make sure and close the door on your way out and last one to leave please put the lights off, you won't be missed RE: Scottish Football - LatexRyan - 25-06-2012 21:32 Huns are gone, finally. Now need to apply for SFA membership in order to join SFL. SFA Membership can only be sought provided a club/company has 3 years of audited accounts, so I don't see how Sevco5088/The Rangers can possibly be SFA members. Even though this talk of reorganising Scottish football has come about in an effort to save Rangers, I do hope that we can see Scottish Football united under 1 body and have a full pyramid structure in place in a few years. SPL clubs now need to push through some serious reforms, change the voting structure and better distribution of TV/advertising revenue and prize money. I honestly think that Rangers are dead, well and truly dead and that there is not even a chance for them to rejoin senior football. They must start out at the very bottom once again. Now the question regarding club 12, who will it be Dunfermline or Dundee? Pretty sure it's going to be Dundee as the way the SPL rules are supposedly worded means that if a club goes bust after the season finishes, the team relegated may not rejoin and instead the team in second place of first division is promoted to replace the club going bust. RE: Scottish Football - Scottishbloke - 25-06-2012 21:47 Personally speaking I'd love to have Dundee back in the SPL. The Dundee United v Dundee Derby is a fixture that has a long history and tradition of some great games down the years, also I'd imagine it would appeal to the TV companies too aswell as providing a packed crowd at both Tannadice and Dens Respectively RE: Scottish Football - LatexRyan - 26-06-2012 00:41 (25-06-2012 21:47 )Scottishbloke Wrote: Personally speaking I'd love to have Dundee back in the SPL. RE: Scottish Football - sweetsugar007 - 26-06-2012 02:53 I shed no tears for Rangers but my fear is the TV companies will feel the league is not viable without Rangers in it. RE: Scottish Football - bigguy01 - 26-06-2012 23:49 more players refusing to move to newco, http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18603617 rangers newco have only the ground and training facilities with no squad and no league football. scottish football tried to copy the english game and 14yrs later in biting them on the ass. for english football to get to this point it would need man utd to collapse if the glazers to sell to someone like mr whyte. also i hope that sfa, spl and sfl get together to sort out some financial rules like uefa's financial fair play rules. So we now know that the company that proclaims itself to be The Rangers Football Club (registered as Sevco5088) is not getting in the SPL. There are questions now as to what league/division they will start in. People say that they should be in the 3rd Division (4th tier of Scottish Football) but currently they do not hold an SFA licence which is required to compete in the senior leagues. They are also not entitled to hold one, as to hold one a club must have 3 years of Audited accounts (Sevco5088 haven't even got 3 weeks). Now that there is a vacancy in the senior leagues, clubs from the junior leagues can apply to join the SFL. The last time a vacancy arose was through the demise of Gretna in 2008. RE: Scottish Football - bigguy01 - 27-06-2012 17:01 yet another player is not joining rangers newco john fleck. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18616251 so far only 3 have said they would join the newco. with dundee would be the new club joining the spl. sfa have received a letter for application for membership but the sfa need the application form not a letter. i think they will end up div 3 with a threat of many points deduction if they go back into administration or face expulsion from scottish football. rangers newco have the chance, if they get a licence and agreement to join the sfl, to do something positive by having a full squad of scottish players and having success domestically eventually on the european stage and this would benefit the national side. i am not an avid follower of scottish football but a good scottish national side would be good to have because wales have improved over the last 3yrs, republic of ireland are a good side which would make good matches if they get put into qualifiing groups with england.
