Is anyone seeing local businesses closing ?

A hotel round the corner from me is keeping its bar area open to the public but closing its accommodation side

"UK wholesale gas prices are at 330p per therm today - 50% down from their peak at the end of August.

That's despite Putin shutting off the Nord Stream pipeline on 2 September.

What's going on?"

Whole sales gas prices are down. The barrel price of fuel is down.
I welcome the reduction of these consumables to the public. Because so far it's not happened.

The major oil exporting countries are planning to reduce the amount of oil produced. So that high oil prices can be maintained. annoyed

Do we have to be spoon fed with everything in this country? How do we reduce energy use, we have off switches and fingers lets get going on that first. Stand by features need to be de-activated on the numerous pieces of kit we all have in out homes. Oven use, switch off shortly before food is fully cooked but keep the doors closed, residual heat will finish the cooking. Measure how much water you need for you cups of tea or coffee and only put that much in kettle to boil....come on folks start thinking yourselves and you will come up with loads of ways you can reduce power usage.
Complaining our Government has not told us this stuff but if they had it would be derided as everything they say currently is.
Suggestion on Good Morning Britain this morning from one of guests was Companies not having whole office block lights on all night to reduce consumption, derided by leftie Garraway as she said people need that light to walk home safely in....really!
