Johnston Carmichael issued a report in Sept 2022: “We have conducted an initial risk review...this has led to disengagement from clients where we perceive there to be a risk of failing to deliver a quality audit.” An SNP spokesperson revealed that the party has informed the Electoral Commission of its difficulty in finding replacement auditors. The party has until July 7th to get everything in order or face sanctions from the EC. Yousaf announced that Murrell will not be suspended citing innocent until proven guilty but as he is no longer Chief Exec the party will not pay his legal fees. It seems the luxury motorhome wasn't his at all. It actually belonged to the SNP itself. It's not clear whether the SNP actually knew this prior to the police seizing it.
