I've really enjoyed what I've played of that in the dancer's story... even though I keep running out of HP and getting killed in battle! RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - JolyonAndri - 21-09-2017 23:48 Currently playing X-COM2 with the new addon, War of The Chosen. I must say it's even harder than the Long War mod, if you played one. Especially if you play on the highest difficulty with Iron Man on. I think I replayed the first mission around twenty times now - I don't want to lose a soldier on it, or have anyone be critically wounded, as they are going to be critical in the missions to follow. Same here it takes a while to get used to it, if you use his ability and boost it during battle then it really helps. RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - *Kal-El* - 23-09-2017 23:58 Ultra Street Fighter 2 Nintendo Switch This time been playing the game in handheld mode which has been fantastic and now playing it in Desktop mode which awesome with both modes been playing it in bed, the console is so versatile. When I get a case for it then I’ll play it on the go too. RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - Jack the Nipper - 24-09-2017 20:44 Game of Thrones;A Telltale Series 1 Ep1-6 (PS4). A game made from the creators(Telltale Games) of The Walking Dead,Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands etc which follows the same premise/genre which is a dialogue driven point-&-click adventure with plenty of QTE's thrown in for good measure.A game where decisions & choices (which are timed events)can reflect different paths of the game as well as certain characters fates. The game follows a sub-plot from the tv series where you initially control various members of the Forrester family, the Forresters of the House of Forrester in Westeros were key allies of the Stark family & specialized in making weaponary with Ironwood. The game is set around the time of the 'War of the Five Kings' & set in familiar settings from the tv series ie Kings Landing,The Wall,Meeren & familiar characters from the main cast ie John Snow,Cersei Lannister,Tyrion Lannister & Daenerys Targaryen make brief cameo appearances. Overall this is a pretty good game for what it is 'a point-&-click adventure' but various decisions you decide to make can at times can be hard ie when you can only save one person from death out of two characters (whoever you choose the other person dies). The story-line is pretty good with a about 10-12 hours of gameplay, the graphics are a little rough around the edges at times but for a game to do justice to the whole GOT series story-line would be more suited to an RPG type game like Elder Scrolls, Witcher,Dark Souls,Shadow of Mordor style-wise.6.5/10. PS;Ramsey Bolton appears in the game & much like the tv series he is an arse-hole in the game as well. RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - Jack the Nipper - 25-09-2017 15:20 Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 (PS4); With Fifa 18 just days away from release & PES 2018 having a few weeks head-start in terms of release I thought I'd give my opinion on the game having played it pretty much daily for the past few weeks. As I've mentioned on a previous post I do tend to buy both games (Fifa & PES) so I am neither a PES or Fifa fan-boy with an axe to grind on one or the other. Last years game PES 2017 was widely regarded as the better footballing game than Fifa 2017 & so this years game hasn't really seen many major changes compared to last years version & seems a mere tinkering here & there. The graphics look crisper & play a bit smoother but initial gameplay has slowed down a bit allowing a more measured apporoach. What is apparent is that goalkeepers perform a lot better & are harder to beat this time & aren't the gaffe prone mess they were last year.Passing & playing through balls feel better where defences can be split open with decisive passing,shooting/striking the ball is as crisp as ever allowing spectacular goals to be scored.Overall PES 2018 plays a great game of football. As for the negatives & there are a fair few in which the creators haven't really addressed that have been apparent in the game over the past through years. The main gripe about the game with many (& which is why the game probably doesn't doesn't sell like it's Fifa rival) is the lack of official team names & kits & while the team names can easily be edited, editing kits becomes an absolute chore. Gameplay wise there isn't the wealth of options like there are in Fifa where My Club continues to play like a poor man's 'Ultimate Team'.Training games which are pretty good & very competitive in Fifa in comparison are pretty basic & same old, same old in PES. While PES does play a great game of football there are a few things I would have like to have seen improvements on like it when conrolling the ball it is far too easy to be knocked off the ball, there is no way of evading sliding tackles (like jumping over them),dribbling & tricks around players could have been better. One of my biggest annoyances though is whilst the goalkeeping has improved the defending at times can be poor through no fault of your own.At times the defence seems to momentarily freeze allowing a precious few seconds for the opposition to attack. In a nutshell PES 2018 offers a great game of football with only a few minor changes compared to last years game & if you can get past the lack of names, kits & game modes it plays an absorbing & satisfying game of football.8.5/10. RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - *Kal-El* - 25-09-2017 19:04 ^^^With the kits I know you can down patches online with the proper kits, it must take these guys ages to do it. There are a few websites that are selling kits, badges for all teams & leagues for between £5 - £10 but the few websites that offer the updates for free require downloading certain software (which seems a bit dodgy to me) so I usually tend to wait 4 -6 weeks when updates become more readily available for free. What I noticed about the game which I forgot to mention is the lack of the German league with teams like Bayern Munich (which are one of the best teams to play as in football games that can match the likes of Barcelona,Real Madrid with their quality of players). Playing through such classics as: Donkey Kong Country F-Zero Mega Man X Star Fox Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting Super Castlevania IV Super Mario Kart Super Mario World Super Metroid The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Yoshi's Island Great times RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - Jack the Nipper - 03-10-2017 14:21 Cuphead (XO); 2017 has been a great year so far for quality games ie Resident Evil 7,Horizon Zero Dawn, Injustice 2 etc but with the the usual summer games drought over we are into the busy period now with a flood of games out weekly in the run up to Christmas & so it's either very brave of foolish to see Cuphead's publishers release the game in the busy period. A lot of hype has surrounded Xbox exclusive game Cuphead (Downloadable only) with it's gorgeous 1930's cartoon style graphics but after playing a good 6 - 7 hours of Cuphead certainly lives up to the hype & in my opinion is a contender for game of the year. You get to play as main character Cuphead & if playing in 2 player team up with his partner in crime Mugman, the game as it's well known is set as those old 1930's style Disney cartoon's with a great jazz,big-band style background music relevant to the era. The game designers have clearly put a lot of time into not just the gorgeous aesthetics of the game but also the fiendishly hard level designs.Don't judge this book by it's glossy cover as this is game is one tough cookie, tougher than a $2 steak in fact. Some levels at times effectively play like side shoot-em up's like Contra but what also makes it harder at times (one of the game's negatives) is the lack of in-level checkpoints.Other small negatives being that the game being limited to one format (which will limit it's sales) as well as being a digital download game only & not a physical disc release. All in all this is a great game with some of the best graphics seen in any game that at times can be frustratingly difficult.9/10. |
