RE: Ofcom Discussion - fedup1 - 19-07-2012 10:37

A big THANKS to everyone who has given me a Rep..I am still finding my way round these forums and at 41years young all these smileys (emoticons) and regulations are new to me as such. The younger end nowadays days think nothing of computers as they are brought up with it.I am more into labour type work rather than office so am self taught using a computer not computer whizzkid..

In my days you got some porn mag or illegal video on VHS and that was it,,todays folk have just to watch a laptop or if your homosexual or straight girl just tune into UK TV..That where my anger lies in that TV is sexist towards Lesbians ans Straight Males all the time and that should be illegal,,sod that it is illegall...

Graham Howell is on leave again he was on leave last time i emailed..Maybe he is on permanent leave cause hes been sacked Smile yeah think i have inserted a emoticon. When the petition has run we need a new one with a simple they allow male genatalia on UK TV anytime any hour of day but they they ban female genatalia. This sexist act has to stop.

Altho Channel 5 have wrote to me saying they showed penises in the docu but did not show fanny lips because it broke ofcom rules i think something is wrong,,where in ofcoms rules does it state female genitals cannot be shown? Channel 5 could have showed fanny lips and channel 5 are wrong?Whichever they are discrminating females..

One last item is this..Most battles usually fade out, things fade and get lost as folk calm down and forget..This forum HAS NEVER FORGOTTEN what its aim is and that is ofcom..They are overpaid by our taxes to regulate TV and they have got it VERY,VERY wrong and i and others should NOT have to be fighting to put this right. Ofcom are thinking things will calm down and fade out but NOT ON MY WATCH,,i will still bombard ofcom till they STOP this sexist act..My savings are increasing so i can vist them in person and if i win big i will sue the person investigating my case Gauranteed.

its not very often i get to tune in on a daytime , today being an exception but i mentioned in a previous post that soon the night time shows will be as tame as the days , well having just witnessed a chapter on elite for the last 15 minutes it was like watching a very pretty blonde on last night who up until around 11.30 still hadnt gone topless ! , oh how i look forward to the future of these channels with glee , it fills me with such faith that knowing so many of the members on here are so anti petition ,that eventually it will probably be the final nail in the coffin of the the channels left , and like so many of the channels already laid to rest this forum may well become a memoriam to them all !

This forum may shutdown and i will be one my own "as such" but i know of others like in games forums where cartoon female genatalia is banned..So its not this forum their are other complaints over the web if i search for people pissed off with fanny lips been pixellated out..I have tweeted out the cause but folk complain but are pussys when it comes to signing a petition..

What paper do you write too to get column inches ..I have texted daily star but they get so many texts they only show a few and again they favour the same texters..Daily mirror i wrote to and they said they would pass it on to relavent departments..The buck stops ar ofcom and when they dont do their job its Graham Howell.Maybe only a few people watch tv but how come all females can name all the films /programmes that have erections in them like ROME.??

When i talk to my mates they only watch footy and bugger off out the room when their partners watch the soaps..When the viewing figures come in and a MASSIVE 9million watched an Eastenders episode thats 8% of UK population watched this certain jaw dropping episode..So maybe not many people watch tv ????? This Morning had a 2 penis images on it last week when a man was on talking about penis enlargementat 10.40am or thereabouts in the morning.

Ofcom are now sexist hyprocrites.Ohh and dont get me started on what i would do if i bumped in this Gough the naked rambler bloke who,s just been released from jail..He is a big letdown for us blokes and just hope he gets arrrested and another 6 years in jail,

Aren't you missing the point about Stephen Gough who is challenging people's perceptions regarding nudity?

He's basically saying there's nothing wrong with the naked body which is what everyone on here is saying anyway.

RE: Ofcom Discussion - terence - 19-07-2012 14:07

^^^ i agree. it seems some people have no issues with naked women but have issues with naked men. naked's naked people. either everyone can get naked or no-one can!
i salute the naked rambler! he did six years on a four month sentence to stand by his beliefs. if i saw that man i would by him a drink (a purely platonic gesture of course!). Smile

RE: Ofcom Discussion - mrmann - 20-07-2012 00:21

The man deserved to be in prison for his time, for doing that on a plane. Very stupid of him, but him being continually sentenced for wanting to leave prison while nude is an odd predicament shocked

The guy clearly has issues, if he can't conform to a very easy law, and wear clothing while outside, which most people are able to conform to. Maybe he should become a stripper, or just go nude in his home, or on a plot of land where nobody is near him. He's to blame for this.

I will agree with everyone here that men in general are more discriminated against when it comes to nudity in public or on nude beaches even. I think we come across as a threat more than women do, which is sad because both sexes should be allowed the same.

Sometimes brief public nudity isn't such a big deal to me (Seen it in London a bit, and if the police are called, they usually just tell the people to get dressed, and little fuss is made for simple nudity), as long as the people aren't touching others or playing with themselves, but I wouldn't be comfortable with everyone being naked out in public. Keep that for nude beaches or certain types of clubs/spas where you know what to expect.

RE: Ofcom Discussion - eccles - 20-07-2012 02:39

Fedup raises the good point about how to get press coverage. Unfortunately my plans to crack that fizzed out after a few attempts were met with complete indifference. There just arent enough hours in the day - its 3am and I have only just got on this site.

My feeling is that some papers are a complete waste of time. The Daily Star is owned by Desmond, if he wanted a fight with Ofcom he would have done it a long time ago. Anyone who pays themselves £50,000,000 a year can afford a court case. Same goes for the Express.

Some papers might be sympathetic (Mirror, Guardian, Independent, Times) and some magazines (Spectator, New Statesman) but my guess is you need to catch the attention of a sympathetic journalist and give them an angle that fits the papers world view. The Guardian for example might pick up a story about arbitrary use of state power (censorship) but would have to square it with its feminst stance. Nt an easy act to get right, but very easy to mess up and get on their 'ignore' list.

A legal fight wont get us anywhere, not when appeals are basically a game of high stakes poker. If the channels arent prepared to fight for their own business I dont see why I should put my house at risk for them.

What will change things is political will. Politicians can be embarresed into dropping support for Ofcom. It can be an outright change of direction or just a gentle nudge. Censorship. Abuse of power. Waste of money. Inefficiency. Political correctness. Backward. All of these things are political dirty words. If we keep at it politicians will wake up and start claiming they have never met Ofcom.

The past few years have seen massive changes in broadcasting. Live casinos. Religious channels. Psychic channels. Former video nasties broadcast without protection. Explicit sex education and sexual health shows. Only one area has experienced increased censorship.
