Watched skysports news other day and i think if i remember tight they said it would only cost £150.000 for the heating and about either £300 or £3000 to heat it prior to the game i.e few days before.

where i heard about it costing £300,000 was on sky sports when they were interviewing the birmingham city director as they don't have a heated pitch and on talksport today they mentained the same price too.

Really disappointed with the 0-0 draw against Stoke, I take nothing away from them but hearing their players after the match talking about what a great result it was for them and that they thought they could have won it really annoyed me, especially when looking back at the stats and seeing that they didn't even get a shot at goal, sometimes I wonder why we even bother playing a goalkeeper when we play teams that are only interested in keeping eleven men behind the ball never mind playing four defenders.

In the Sky Sports News report, they said it costs £120,000 to get the undersoil heating (double that for some clubs.) and costs up to 3,000 to run it on the lead up to a game.

A great deal of money for the smaller clubs to try and afford.

Have faith bro, all is not lost, for one we have the best defense in the world right now and I would challenge anyone to debate against that otherwise, so even if we cannot break down the teams we need to, to win the league at least we can look towards Europe, teams need to score against us to put us out and I really cannot see that happening, if teams attack us they know that they are giving Torres and Gerrard the little space they need to beat them.

If clubs can't afford to invest in undersoil heating then they shouldn't be in the Premier League, and even though Portsmouth are not a wealthy club in the grand scheme of things they still have a balance and a sum of money in the coffers thanks to Sky to pay for undersoil heating.

At the end of the day the Premier League should not have a backlog of fixtures due to weather conditions which can be avoided with smart investment in modern day technology, if it does then perhaps Portsmouth should be thrown out of the league and Leeds, who have a bigger support, greater history, greater rivalry with the clubs in the Premiership and an all round better infrastructure in place should be re-instated back in the league. !/controversy\!

with that money they got from defoe amd that player that sold to real madrid am suprised they didn't get it done.

RE: *Official Football Thread* - Bosse - 11-01-2009 03:39

Defoe - 15m, Diarra 20-25m... Yeah I agree, they aren't poor, they just have really low standards imo.

Bet i know where most of that money is going to the share holders, the next year season tickets go up then more money to be made.
