Going to be interesting to see how England recover from this

One of the most pathetic batting displays I have ever witnessed.

RE: Ashes series 2015 - lovebabes56 - 19-07-2015 16:58

too shocking to watch a batting display like that it should carry a health warning!!

So how well the pitch would last 5 days wasn't put to the test, with England only batting for 37 overs today.

How come a team that was so good in the 1st test be so bad in the 2nd match. This second innings performance was the worse that I've seen a long while.

With the exception of the first morning England controlled the last match and it is much easier to dictate the pace of the game when you are in front. This time they had to spend the best part of two days in the field while the aussies built up a huge total and smashed the england bowlers all round the park. When they came out to bat their only hope of salvaging something from the game was to occupy the crease and use up time. Once they lost early wickets they virtually gave up trying and accepted their fate.

So much for this "positive batting" attitude!! All it does is fire up the opposition!! We never made the best use of the conditions on Day 1.
Lyth to me hasn't got the makings of a being an outstanding opener I would drop him.

The new coach is planning changes.

Really can,t see the point of making wholesale changes, England need to regroup and think about what approach they will take in the next test. It might also help if they get the groundsman at Edgbaston to prepare a pitch that will suit their bowlers.
