RE: Star Trek Discovery - thrud - 18-03-2019 16:31 That was a great episode, but I was somewhat annoyed at a couple of things at the end, which I'm putting down to poor writing. First, Burham's utter lack of concern for Nhan when she was busy suffocating. If it had been Tilly there she would have done something, but a Barzan chief of security with a missing rebreather? Fuck her. It's also a great shame that Discovery's transporters were forgotten about at the end when they could have been quite useful to rescue someone. Having moaned about that, it was good to finally find out what Airiam actually is, though I am wondering just how much of her is left after her accident, and how much is cybernetic augmentation. If she's forced to download memories every week than that implies a lot of brain damage. RE: Star Trek Discovery - Rammyrascal - 19-03-2019 17:13 Anson Mount confirmed not to be back for s3 & Rebecca Romijn also expected not to return https://twitter.com/trekcore/status/1107961836207513605?s=21 RE: Star Trek Discovery - skully - 19-03-2019 18:43 Kinda obvious really, but if they want to give him a spin off on Enterprise, I'd be all for it, he's done a great job as Pike imo. RE: Star Trek Discovery - *Kal-El* - 22-03-2019 09:19 Ep 10 “The Red Angel” Season 2 So it’s revealed who is the Red Angel and the team have to find a way of capturing the Red Angel. Mean while Bunham finds the truth regarding her parents and shock horror section 31 is involved. Am plan is set to capture the Red Angel but all I can say is the reveal of who you think about Red Angel really is has a shocking twist leaving more questions then answers hence the double twist. RE: Star Trek Discovery - Rammyrascal - 22-03-2019 09:38 S2 ep 10 “The Red Angel” The identity of the Red Angel is revealed & as it is Burnham finds out the truth about how her parents were killed and then puts her life in danger as bait to capture the Angel. Also a very moving funeral for Airiam & her replacement on the bridge is revealed & played by the first actress to play Airiam The very end sees a massive twist as the identity of the red angel is revealed and it’s not who you think it is RE: Star Trek Discovery - *Kal-El* - 29-03-2019 09:36 Ep 11 “Perpetual Infinity” Season 2 After last weeks shocking reveal that the Red Angel was actually Michael Burnham’s mother we get flashbacks as what happened and why. What I did like about the Ep was the emotional side of things between the two characters, mother and daughter it was very well acted between the two actresses you really did believe they were mother and daughter and that they shared similar character traits. Of course Control is having none of this and wants control over the information Burnham’s mother has and is willing to desperate things to get it. My only minor gripe is by the end is how they try to deal with Control which I thought was a little bit of down by how easily a set of events happen and certain things were not explained which was a little frustrating. But it’s another emotional event at the end of Ep that was the real heart break of the Ep. Both this weeks Ep and last Ep 10 were very well acted from all the actors and actresses. RE: Star Trek Discovery - southsidestu - 30-03-2019 00:57 You would think 22% of everything the sphere knew would be enough to make control unbeatable let alone any more RE: Star Trek Discovery - thrud - 31-03-2019 16:28 I liked Culber's embarrassed admission that he'd matched the sample to Burnham using mitochondrial DNA. Then again, everyone knew that Mummy Burnham was dead. I'm envisioning a meeting towards the end of season 1. Sara Mitich goes to the producers saying "Look, I really love being on the show and it's nice to have a regular job, but I can't face four hours every day to put all the Airiam prosthetics on any more. Is there anything we can do?" So they recast her as a random background Lieutenant, bring in Hannah Cheeseman to wear the mask, then kill off Airiam and put Sara Mitich back on the bridge without prosthetics. Problem solved! RE: Star Trek Discovery - Rammyrascal - 31-03-2019 18:12 bit of disco trivia for this weeks episode. The actor that played Michael Burnham’s dad is Kenric Green who is the real life husband of Sonequa Martin-Green who plays Michael Burnham As for the episode itself thought it was another very good well acted episode in what has been a very good s2 which could say has been better than s1 RE: Star Trek Discovery - *Kal-El* - 31-03-2019 18:38 Ep 12 “Through The Valley of Shadows” Season 2 Promo https://youtu.be/AVpe7zNCfP4 |
